Halle Bailey has addressed critics who accused her of "lying" about her pregnancy.

The moment came when the singer and actress, who announced the arrival of her first child with rapper DDG three weeks ago, responded to an individual claiming she "went out of her way to lie and gaslight" people on social media.

Fans Showered Halle Bailey With Support After She Clapped Back At Critics

Halle appeared to have had enough of onlookers' takes on her personal life amid the controversy surrounding her pregnancy.

The drama began when one critic typed a lengthy response to a now-deleted clip of the 23-year-old star wearing blue jeans with an apparent black maternity band around the waist, alongside the caption:

"Imaooo do y'all remember seeing this pics on my insta? we photoshopped out my belly."

The social media user quoted the video with the response, "I don't think people are mad she hid her pregnancy. People are more so annoyed that she went out of her way to lie and gaslight about it. Then, she shaded people and called them desperate. Now, she wants those same 'desperate' people to know every little detail."

Seemingly displeased by the take, Halle clapped back by noting that she "never lied or even said anything about it," and that "making a joke about my nose was the farthest I went." She then pointed out her confusion about the fault-finder being "mad" that she "protected" her "own peace."

"Wouldn't you do the same? and I'm gonna share my pics now if I want to because my son is here safely. If you don't wanna see it, just keep scrolling baby lol God bless you," Halle wrote on X.

"The Little Mermaid" star's fans promptly swooped into the replies with their comments, with one stating, "Even if you did lie, it would be valid though it should not be other people's business whether you were pregnant or not."

"They're way too entitled; you had EVERY right!!! That's your baby, not ours, and most of us love seeing your journey regardless of when you posted it! People are so weird," a second supporter shared, as a third instructed Halle, "Don't explain yourself to people. You did what was best for you and baby."

A fourth X user added, "Why are people playing in her face saying she lied - she never denied anything, just giggled and redirected... stop being bitter over a private and healthy pregnancy."

Halle was forced to respond again when another online citizen penned above her initial comment, "Halle, baby. Kill it. You didn't tell us about the baby then. You didn't speak then. Don't speak now & leave us out the conversation. Enjoy your jit in peace. We don't care."

"If you don't care, why are you responding then, sweetheart? Just don't care by living your best life and not commenting on mine," the mother-of-one retorted.

The reply got a similar supportive reaction from fans, with one person typing, "This is a new momma bear! I wouldn't play with her if I were y'all."

The reply left another pondering, "It's a sunday and they are worrying about another woman and how she hid her pregnancy for her peace and y'all mad and attacking her for what? Are you going to bring the baby some diapers?"

Halle Previously Revealed No Hurry To Get Back Her Pre-Baby Body

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that the "Ungodly Hour" hitmaker offered fans a glimpse into her postpartum journey, proudly displaying her physique after welcoming her son, Halo. In one photo posted online, she wore a bra and black shorts, standing proudly before what appeared to be her son's baby carrier.

She candidly shared that she was yet to start working on her "snapback" body across the shot, writing, "So, this is me rn and I've letting my body heal. I haven't started really working out yet, but I'll show you my goal."

Halle donned a stylish green crop top and matching skirt in another image shared via Snapchat. She expressed her fitness aspirations: "I wanna get back to being this size on my upper body but I wanna keep the meat I've gained on my bottom half because I like it."

A collage of the photos was uploaded to "The Neighborhood Talks" Instagram page, giving onlookers a chance to air their views. While one person declared, "She will bounce back quick, although she looks amazing she's young. Youth is on her side," another emphasized that she "still looks good."
