Country music singer Chris Younghas been cleared of his recent charges amid an incident that occurred between him and a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) officer at a Nashville bar.
The 'Aw Naw' singer was originally booked and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault of an officer on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was then released the next morning.
The District Attorney's office decided to clear Young from all charges shortly after security footage of the incident started going viral online.
Chris Young Cleared From Recent Charges
The incident, which occurred Monday evening, began after the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission walked into the bar that Chris Young was at. They were there to perform a routine compliance check. Everything was in order as Young handed over his ID with no issue.
However, the documents state the situation escalated after Young reportedly followed TABC to a different bar, and then would not let the TABC officers leave. The arrest docs state that the country music singer placed his arm on the officer's chest, blocking him from the door.
That is when the TABC officers physically detained him and placed him in handcuffs.
After footage from a security camera was released, the Nashville District Attorney's Office announced that all charges against the country star would be dropped "after a review of all the evidence in this case."

According to the documents, “two agents had to physically detain Young and placed him in handcuffs. As agents tried to leave the bar with Young, multiple people who were with Young reportedly started following them and ‘making the incident hostile."
Shortly after the news broke that Young was arrested, a video circulated the internet, showing the situation going down. Fans immediately claimed that the incident did not exactly align with what the docs said.
The document states, "Mr. Young put his hands out to stop [an officer] from leaving the bar and struck [an officer] on the shoulder. [The officer] then pushed Mr. Young to create distance since [he] had no idea who Mr. Young was or what he had."
In the clip, Young can be seen casually standing in the bar before he seemingly reaches out and places his arm in front of the TABC agent. From the video, fans of the singer have stated it looks as though Young was just trying to get the officer's attention and not block him from leaving.
That is when the TABC aggressively pushes Young and another agent takes him to the ground.
The country music singer was booked into the Metro jail and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault of an officer.
Nearly one week after his arrest, and after the District Attorney announced all charges would be dropped, Chris Young's attorney, Bill Ramsey said, "Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA's decision clearing him of the charges and any wrongdoing."
Chris Young has yet to publicly comment on the arrest.
