Carolla and Lynette finally reached a settlement in their 3-year divorce, and both parties have been declared legally single as of today, January 24, 2024. The radio personality will pay his ex-wife an "equalization" payment of $4 million which includes the sale of their family home in La Canada Flintridge, CA.
The family residence is currently listed on the market at $8,350,000 and Adam's fee to Lynette could be affected by the net proceeds of the sale. This means that if the proceeds exceed $4 million, both parties shall equally divide the proceeds beyond that amount.
However, if it is less than $4 million, Lynette will receive her money in installments of $17,000 per month from Adam until the money is fully paid. Aside from the property, which both parties agreed to split the proceeds, Adam gets to keep most of his assets, including his mind-blowing $13 million car collection.
The "Loveline" co-host will keep his 1967 Lamborgini 400GT, the 2005 Astin Martin DB9, and the 2020 Nissan Anniversary 370Z, alongside 28 other luxury vehicles that were purchased through his podcasting company, Lotzi, Inc.
In addition, Adam was awarded ownership of his Paul Newman memorabilia estimated at $150,000, plus he retains the ownership of the intellectual property pertaining to all his podcasts, shows, books, and live performances.
As for Lynette, she will be paid $32,000 monthly for spousal support as well as $17,000 a month in child support payments for their two children. She also gets to keep the 2022 Tesla Model X automobile and a 2021 Mercedes Benz which are subject to lease agreements.
Both Adam and Lynette have joint legal custody of their two kids, Santino and Natalia. "Each party is enjoined and restrained from making derogatory remarks of and concerning the other party to, in the presence of, or within hearing distance of the Minor Children. Adam Carolla's Ex-Wife Requested $66K In Spousal Support
Adam broke the news of the end of his marriage on a May 2021 episode of his podcast "‘The Adam Carolla Show." He told his audience:
"Lynette and I are getting divorced. It's not something that I wanted to get or to do, I'm a product of divorce, Lynette's a product of divorce… No one ever signs up to get divorced. We've been separated for a few months, it’s hard, the kids come first, and they have."
He continued, "It's been a difficult time, we've been together for 25 years, we're very different human beings, we have different sets of philosophies, that's for sure." The Guinness World Record holder clarified that infidelity wasn't the cause of their almost two-decade marriage saying:
"It’s not an event, it's not somebody was cheating, it’s not chronic gambling or COVID, it's really just two people that were just that different and just had completely different processes and approaches to life and just couldn't meet in the middle somewhere. It’s hard, it's a weird thing. Everyone gets divorced — or a lot of people get divorced … but it just never was in my cards. I guess I didn't have it as an option. My thing was like, whatever isn't working, we'll make it work. But ultimately, if you can't make it work then it's probably for the good, so I'm in a pretty good place."
The ex-couple had a contentious divorce, with Lynette claiming, "Adam made it clear at the outset of this proceeding that he felt I was entitled to nothing despite the length of our marriage." She cited his massive real estate portfolio of almost $9 million and his car collection as evidence that her ex-husband had a lot of money.
She alleged that Adam historically earned in excess of $271,924 per month and requested that he pay around $66,217 per month of spousal support for the rest of her life. Along with over $21,000 in child support for their two children.
