Donald Trump Claims Melania Will Be 'Active' In Campaign After Her Mother's Funeral

Donald Trump is bringing his family into his campaign, starting with his wife, Melania Trump, becoming a more "active" figure.
The former president spoke about her helpful advice and compassion and praised his son, Barron, whom he claims got so tall from his grandmother's food.
Trump is currently in the lead to become the Republican candidate for the upcoming U.S. Presidential election. He currently holds a 40-point lead over Nikki Haley for the New Hampshire primaries after former rivals, like Ron DeSantis, dropped out of the race.
Donald Trump Says He Relies On Melania For 'Advice'
During a new interview, Trump dished high praise for his family, especially his wife, Melania, and their son, Barron. The former president said he's received a lot of helpful advice from Melania, that she has a lot of compassion, and will be "very active" for his campaign.
He said, "I rely on her for advice and all the others. I think she will be very active in the sense of being active."
Trump's statements on Melania come shortly after the funeral of her mother, Amalija Knavs, who died earlier this month after an illness.
The family laid her to rest after a private service at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, near his Mar-a-Lago estate.
In the interview, Trump also spoke about his security concerns for his family. He said they've received many "unfair" attacks since he began his previous term as president, especially as he campaigns for another term in office.
The Ex-President Gushed About His Son Barron
The presidential hopeful also discussed his son Barron, who he revealed is actually 6 feet 8 inches. Barron was photographed beside his father and mother at Knavs' funeral last week and towered over both of them. About Barron, Trump called him a "special boy" and said, "He's a good boy, smart, good athlete, very good boy."
During his victory speech after winning the Iowa Republican caucus, Trump said Barron grew so tall because he ate all of the late Knavs' amazing food. About his late mother-in-law, he said, per DailyMail, "Great people, great parents to all of us, really. Great parents, but also to Barron. Boy, did she take care of Barron."
Trump also spoke about his son's athletic preferences. He stated, "I said you're gonna be a basketball player. He said, 'Well, I like soccer, Dad, actually.' I thought... at your height, I like basketball better, but you can't talk them into everything."
Donald Trump Has A Massive Lead In The Primaries
Trump is currently rolling into the New Hampshire primaries with a huge 20-point lead over Nikki Haley. Haley is his final rival for the Republic presidential candidate position, and once he wins the state, he's set to face current President Joe Biden in the 2024 elections.
Since Ron DeSantis officially dropped out of the race on Sunday, there's been a massive show of force from Trump's team. In his rallies, the businessman has brought out former rivals, including Tim Scott and Vivek Ramaswamy, on stage to show their support for him.
As each of his rivals have suspended their campaigns, Trump has gained more support in the Republican camp. Many have predicted that he'll repeat his landslide victory from the Iowa caucus in New Hampshire.
Donald Trump Is Predicted To Win In New Hampshire
The latest poll for New Hampshire, according to the Daily Mail, puts Trump at 57% support and Haley at 37% support. Only the day before, the point difference between them was just 10 points, with the possibility for things to swing Haley's way if Democrat and Independent voters supported her with votes.
However, the final poll of 851 people has put Trump at a 40-point advantage, which is a difficult gap for Haley to close. The conductors of the survey, J.L Partners, spoke to the news outlet through their co-founder, James Johnson. He explained that DeSantis' exit from the race "added rocket fuel" to Trump's campaign.
He said, "He posted an exceptional 40-point lead over Nikki Haley in our final day of fieldwork – all after the DeSantis drop. This means our final poll, taking all days of fieldwork into account, gives Trump an advantage of 20 points. Add in the fact Haley voters are lacking enthusiasm, and Trump looks set for a landslide victory. The whiff of inevitability now surrounds Donald Trump. If this poll is accurate, then the primary contest ends tonight."
