Former first lady Melania Trump has expressed her gratitude for the "love and support" she received in the wake of her mother's death.
She took to social media on Sunday to make the statement and noted that her beloved mother's memories, Amalija Knavs, will be "cherished."
Previously, Melania delivered a touching eulogy at the funeral ceremony of her mother, which had many high-profile Republicans and the Trump family in attendance.

In a recent post on Instagram, Melania shared her gratitude to well-wishers and her fans for the support she has received since her mother, Knavs, passed on January 9 at the age of 78.
"On behalf of my family, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the love and support that you have showered upon us throughout this journey of loss and grief," the 53-year-old wrote in her post to her 1.8 million followers.
The former model included a black-and-white photograph featuring her mother, who was smiling broadly for the camera and proudly displaying her flawless teeth.
She completed the post with a statement that noted that her mother's legacy would live on in her absence.
Melania continued: "We will cherish the beautiful memories of my beloved mother and forever keep her light in our hearts."

It comes after Melania delivered a touching eulogy at the funeral of her mother last Thursday.
"My mother, the epitome of elegance and grace, exemplified the essence of a true woman," the former first lady said. "Her love for her husband, Viktor, my father; Ines, my sister; and me was boundless. Her nurturing spirit had no limits, creating a legacy that will last for generations."
Melania also reflected on how her mother's love extended to her son Barron, saying she showered him with "love, tender care, and unwavering devotion."

The former first lady added, "She embodied the best mother, wife, grandmother, and mother-in-law, a true beacon of love and luxury in our lives."
In attendance at the funeral was the Trump family, including Melania's husband, Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner. Other high-profile Republicans, like Senators Lindsey Graham and Rick Scott, also made an appearance.
All About Amalija Knavs
Amalija Knavs was born in 1945 and grew up in Slovenia during a tumultuous period for the Eastern European country. At the time, the country was transitioning from Nazi occupation to incorporation into the socialist republic of Yugoslavia.
Amalija and her husband Viktor brought up Melania and her sister Ines in the town of Sevnica. Then lived in a state-run housing complex, and Amalija worked at a children's clothing factory as a pattern maker.
Eventually, Amalija and Viktor relocated to the United States, joining Melania. They became citizens in 2018 through a special ceremony in New York City.
The duo were often seen with Melania and Donald going on trips during their time at the White House. They were also seen visiting the White House on some occasions and spent some time living there.
