Snoop Dogg's daughter, Cori Broadus' health concerns have increased as she recently suffered a “severe stroke” amid her ongoing battle with lupus.
The 24-year-old opened up about the shocking health scare, sharing how heartbroken she is to endure such a terrifying experience at a young age.
Snoop Dogg's Daughter Cori Shares Emotional Update From The Hospital
Cori, daughter of the Hip-hop icon and his wife Shanté Broadus, updated her Instagram Story with two pictures detailing her health emergency at the hospital.
The first image was a snap of her hospital bed alongside the heartbreaking announcement: “I had a severe stroke this a.m. I started breaking down crying when they told me.”
The second picture was a selfie of Cori in a pink hoodie and a nose mask. However, her face was covered by the overlay text. She lamented her situation in the caption, writing: “Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”
Although she did not share what caused the stroke or how long she would stay at the hospital, the incident is not the media personality's first health struggle. Cori was diagnosed with lupus at six, an arduous journey that included a 2021 suicide attempt.
However, the 24-year-old raved about getting better in September 2023 after taking a holistic approach to her health. “I've been good, better than I've ever been,” she told PEOPLE. “I stopped taking all of my medication like five months ago. I'm just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas.”
“I started working out, drinking lots of water. So now I think my body's like, okay, this is the new program, and she's getting used to it,” she continued, noting she made the transition after the longtime use of medications made her “feel like I was going insane.” In Cori's words:
“I've had medication since I was 6 years old, depending on these drugs all my life. So I wanted better for myself. I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I'm only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold Turkey.”
Despite the significant progress she has achieved since switching to holistic methods, the “Drop It Like It's Hot” hitmaker's daughter admitted there were more lifestyle changes necessary to boost her health.
“It's continuously a learning process because there's so much more I could be doing,” she explained, confessing that she struggled with “eating terribly” and “not getting the proper rest.” Nonetheless, she understood that her health couldn't do a “360 change” and was focused on the day-to-day progress instead of feeling overwhelmed.
“I have days where I'm sick, but I'm still blessed and able to do what I love to do and to tell my story,” Cori shared. “But then there's days I'm like, ‘Wow, I wish I wasn't sick. What would my life be if I was just a normal girl?’ It's part of being human. You're going to have bad days, you're not going to always have good days.”
Cori Broadus Opened Up About Her Kidney Biopsy Results
Last February, Snoop Dogg's daughter shared her kidney biopsy results with fans on her Instagram Story. The medical test involved removing a small piece of kidney tissue to analyze for potential abnormalities or illnesses.
Fortunately, the results were positive, with Cori explaining the medical lingua to fans with a screenshot of her notes. In the picture, she explained her kidneys were at stage 3 out of 5, with five being the worst and three being considered mild but still active.
Stage 3 was a better option than stage 4, as that would mean Cori required chemotherapy. Nonetheless, doctors considered putting her on Benlysta, a treatment option administered through a monthly shot or weekly injection.

The media personality noted that doctors treated her “aggressively” over her safety because her kidneys were once on stage 4. She also stated that her current stage was reversible and insisted her kidneys were okay despite being “inflamed.”
As for her treatment, Cori concluded she would continue taking Cell Cept and doing blood pressure checks every day. In her next post, she shared a picture of herself posing outdoors in a grey workout ensemble and captioned the shot: “Slowly but surely getting there 😭 on vacation and still putting the work in.”
