Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, DID get permission from the late Queen Elizabeth II to name their daughter her childhood nickname "Lilibet."

As we reported, it was earlier claimed that the couple lied when they revealed that the queen blessed them to use the name and that she was allegedly "angry" with the duo when it came out.

According to reports, Harry and Meghan got full permission from Queen Elizabeth to use Lilibet as their daughter's name. The unique appellation pays homage to the late monarch, who held the nickname Lilibet since she was a child.

Initially, a former member of the late queen's staff claimed that the monarch was furious when the Sussexes publicly stated they had her blessings to use the name for their 2-year-old daughter. This raised doubts about the truthfulness of Harry and Meghan's disclosure. However, a source has confirmed that the couple was truthful in stating they had the queen's approval.

"Meghan and Harry 100 percent got permission from the queen to use the name Lilibet," an insider shared with Us Weekly.

The claims about the queen not approving Lilibet's name were made in the biography "Charles III: New King, New Court" written by royal author Robert Hardman.

In the book, Hardman also claimed that the queen threatened new publications with court action when they claimed that she blessed the name to be used by her 11th grandchild. However, he noted that "those noisy threats of legal action duly evaporated" after a while.

According to the same source, the Sussexes are "shocked that [such a report] is coming now," as "it seems out of nowhere and out of left field."

They also claimed that the couple "feels like it's more of the same [smear] campaign that continues against them."

The insider went on to clarify that the approval for the name wasn't a secret, as "multiple people are aware." They suggested that the Sussexes also think that the mention of it now is likely due to the queen's absence.

"[Harry and Meghan] feel it's convenient [that] this is surfacing now when the queen is not here to defend herself and can't say what is true or false," the insider concluded.

This isn't the first time a claim has emerged about the Sussexes not getting permission from the queen to use the Lillibet name for their duaghter.

Back in 2021, the duo hit back at a Palace source who said they "never asked" Her Majesty about using her childhood nickname and just did it of their own volition. They responded to the claim via their official spokesman, even detailing the content of their conversation with the queen.

"The Duke spoke with his family in advance of the announcement; in fact, his grandmother was the first family member he called," said the spokesman at the time, per The Sun.

The spokesman added, "During that conversation, he shared their hope of naming their daughter Lilibet in her honor. Had she not been supportive, they would not have used the name."

Recently, a different royal book also discussed another incident involving the Sussexes, their children, and the royal family.

In Omid Scobie's book "Endgame," he stated that Harry and Meghan are "still hurt" that there was a delay in conferring royal titles upon their children, Archie and Lilibet.

The royal author claimed in his book that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet should have gotten their royal designations immediately after King Charles' ascension. However, this process was delayed by six months, despite King Charles allegedly assuring Harry that the changes would be implemented early in 2023.

Besides feeling hurt about the delay, Scobie said that the Sussexes started to think their kids were treated differently compared to their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, born to Harry's brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton. The royal author also claimed that Harry and Meghan found it hard to feel comfortable with this difference.
