Drew Barrymore On Dating In 2024: 'You Have To Be Brave'

Drew Barrymore gave her viewers and fans raw, emotional dating advice moving into the New Year, telling them, "you have to be brave."

The 'Blended' actress has been publicly single since her split from Will Kopelman in 2016. The two were married for three years.

Going into 2024, Drew has some wonderful advice for those who are looking to date but may be scared of coming out of their shell.

In 2020, Drew Barrymore admitted that she would “never, never, never” get married again, but she was open to the idea of dating in a few years. In 2023, she confessed she had been on a few dates, but nothing serious came out of it. Now that it is 2024, viewers want to know if the '50 First Dates' actress is ready to continue putting herself out there, and if so, does she have any advice?

While on her morning talk show, 'The Drew Barrymore Show', the 48-year-old actress was asked by a fan if she had any dating advice moving into the New Year.

After pausing for a few moments, thinking about what she wanted to say, she decided on, "No matter how badly you've ever, ever, been hurt, you have to not believe that that is what is in your future or that someone else deserves that baggage."

She continued to speak directly into the camera, telling her viewers, "You have to be brave, and you just have to be convinced that each individual, circumstance, person, and situation is probably going to present [itself] differently."

"It is not the repetitive fear that you have in your mind that you project," she continued, before concluding with, "I'm talking to myself."

The 48-year-old recently admitted that Taylor Swiftinfluenced her to begin dating again, admitting, "There’s something about this human being that’s kind of pushing people to express themselves in a very joyous positive way."

Adding, "I just want to say, for me personally, I have been single for seven years, seeing her on that first date out there in the box with his family, I had a very big … ‘aha moment'."

In September 2023, Taylor Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game, confirming that she was, in fact, dating NFL star Travis Kelce.

After she and the Chiefs' player went public, Drew said:

"There was something so normal about it, and obviously Taylor Swift is everything but normal, but [it made me think], ‘I’m a female, I’m going to go out on a date with a male, I’m not going to overthink this, I am not going to be the dark horse and be secretive and weird about it'."

When doing a "Drew's News" segment on her morning talk show, she added, “Like, she just went out on a date, and it made me think I could just go out on a date.”

Drew Barrymore is still single, but it seems she is open to dating in 2024.
