Tori Spelling has been ordered to show up to court and bring all information on her assets because she blew off paying a $220,000 judgement she owes.
The actress and her husband Dean McDermott were sued by City National Bank in 2016. The bank accused the couple of taking out a $400k loan back in 2010. They allegedly defaulted on the payments and had an outstanding balance of $188k owed, which the bank said they refused to pay up on.
The suit also accused Tori of overdrawing $17k from a checking account that she didn’t have and failed to repay. They sued seeking a total of $205k for the unpaid balance plus damages
Earlier this year, the judge granted City National Bank’s motion for default judgement due to Tori and Dean blowing off the case. The default judgement ordered Tori to pay $202,066.10 plus $17,730.56 for a grand total of $219,796.66
On November 2, the judge ordered Tori to appear in court for an examination of her finances. The actress will have to appear in court early next year and bring documents detailing her financial situation
City National Bank is demanding she “furnish information to aid in enforcement of a money judgement.”
Basically, the bank wants Tori to list her properties and assets so they can evaluate what to seize to satisfy their judgement.
The docs also make it clear if Tori blows off the hearing she faces an arrest for contempt of court.
