Former first lady Melania Trump is taking the passing of her mother, Amalija Knavs, very hard and is allegedly becoming a "recluse."
According to a report, Knavs' death has made it difficult for Melania to navigate the current political climate amid her husband, Donald Trump's re-election campaign.
Melania personally announced her mother's passing on social media with a heartfelt tribute to the 78-year-old.
Melania Trump Too Overwhelmed By Mother's Passing For 'Photo Ops'
Melania has reportedly been weighed down by the passing of her mother, Knavs, following a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
Sources who spoke with the National Enquirer claim that the former first lady is "overwhelmed" by the loss of her mother and can not deal with the pressures of making public appearances during her husband's election campaign.
They also claim that Trump's multiple legal issues and his name being mentioned in the released Jeffrey Epstein documents have added to Melania's stress.
A source said, "Melania has been dealing with her mom's illness for a while, so the last thing she wants to do is show up for photo ops."
Previous reports claimed that Melania and Trump's marriage had become nothing but a "business partnership" as a result of his growing legal problems and links with Epstein.
"She practically had her bags packed last year, but Donald made concessions and renegotiated their prenup for at least a third time to convince her to stay through the campaign," a source once noted told the outlet.
Amid Melania's current struggle with the loss of her mother, Trump has allegedly now become very loving and caring towards his wife as she grieves.
"Donald's been surprisingly supportive of Melania. It's actually brought out his more human side and has led him to comfort her," an insider said.
Adding, "They're closer than they've been for years. At least for now."
Donald Trump Plans To Support Melania At Her Mother's Funeral Amid Trial
At a recent campaign event, ex-president Trump ranted about his trial not being postponed following New York Judge Lewis Kaplan's refusal of his request.
Trump declared that he wanted to attend the funeral to offer Melania emotional support during the service. According to the Daily Mail, he told the crowd, "I have a trial going on, a totally fake trial. And we asked the judge if I could take a day off for a funeral for my mother-in-law, who was very close to me also."
He called Judge Kaplan an "animal" for not postponing the trial and said it was all planned to "hurt" him.
Trump further claimed, "These are bad people, these are radical left lunatics that want to hurt me because they think it's gonna hurt me at the polls so that Biden can win the election."
The crowd at the presidential hopeful's rally got fired up as he alleged that the trials were a conspiracy and plot against him. They agreed, as the businessman added, "I don't think the people are going to fall for it."
The business mogul emphasized that he wants to "support" Melania at the funeral because she's not "supposed to stand there alone."
He noted, "One way or the other, I'll be there. But what a disgrace that a judge would not say, 'Yes, we can take a day off.'"
Donald Trump Pays Tribute To His Late Mother-In-Law
Following the announcement of Melania's mother's death, Trump took to his Truth Social page to pen a loving eulogy about his late mother-in-law, noting how great a woman she was during her life.
"This is a very sad night for the entire Trump family!!!" Trump said hours after Knavs' death. "Melania's great and beautiful mother, Amalija, has just gone to a beautiful place in the sky."
He praised the septuagenarian, calling her "an incredible woman," and said she would be "missed far beyond words."
In addition to his post, Trump shared a throwback photo of himself and Knavs. In the image, the pair could be seen posing with broad smiles. It is unclear if the picture was taken when Knavs was battling the illness.
In Melania's post on her mother, she expressed her sorrow at Knavs' passing, writing, "It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija." She added, "Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity."
