Stewart has revealed that her upcoming lesbian thriller, "Love Lies Bleeding," will be anything but basic.

The film is currently in post-production and is scheduled to be theatrically released in March of this year.

Speaking with Variety, the British Academy Film Award winner shared that the LGBTQ+ romance movie would "shock" viewers with the nature of its intimate scenes, showcasing a distinct style compared to the "rote" approach taken in typical romantic films.

"They don't take their clothes off, but this is going to shock people," the "Charlie's Angel" star said about the film.

She added, "All you ever see is a dress coming up and a head going down under. I think even hetero s-- on film is so rote... No one actually really wants to reveal themselves."

"Love Lies Bleeding" will also see Stewart's character portrayed more masculinely, contrasting with the traditionally feminine roles she has been known for since she debuted in the film industry.

According to the actress, she found this deviation from the norm to be "really sexy" and was "turned on by it."

She told Variety, "There was something about having the things that I have found attractive be really glorified. It was really sexy, and I don't mean from an outsider's perspective: I felt turned on by it, and it was cool to have people witness that."

Collaborating with Glass on the film seems to be a dream come true for Stewart, as she had previously expressed her admiration for the director in an interview before the start of production.
