Pat McAfee has seemingly officially washed his hands of Aaron Rodgers following the NFL star's controversial comments about Jimmy Kimmel and Jeffrey Epstein's infamous list.

The sports analyst is tired of the drama as he recently announced the New York Jets quarterback has been sidelined on his eponymous ESPN show. Rodgers' feud with Kimmel seems to have done a number on McAfee, as he couldn't be happier to be rid of the athlete.

Pat McAfee Implies Aaron Rodgers NFL Fame Is Not Worth His Controversial Thoughts

The past week has taught McAfee that not all publicity is good publicity in the wake of Rodgers' drama with Kimmel. The podcast host noted in the latest episode of his show that he never expected his Wednesday programs to become a controversial topic among fans over the athlete's comments.

McAfee stated that while his show promoted freedom of speech, people would have to deal with the consequences of their words. Although he did not mention Rodgers's name directly, the sports analyst claimed they had "given a lot of people who have been waiting for us to fail a lot of ammo the last week."

The "Pat McAfee Show" host implied that Rodgers's impressive track record earned him a place on the show. However, his achievements could not overshadow his controversial thoughts. "Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Famer. He is a four-time MVP. He is a massive piece of the NFL story. Whenever you go back and tell it, he will be a huge part of it," he said, adding:

"We are very lucky to get a chance to chat with him and learn from him. Some of his thoughts and opinions, though, do piss off a lot of people. And I'm pumped that that is no longer every single Wednesday of my life, which it has been for the last few weeks."

McAfee stressed that he didn't want his show to be known for the drama, nor did he like "doing these types of talks." He dropped a clip of his announcement about Rodgers' dismissal from the podcast on X, noting he was ready to resume conversations about sports.

Naturally, the video got fans talking, but they had mixed reactions to the news. Some slammed McAfee for dropping the quarterback from his show, while others supported his decision to let the athlete go.

One can only guess where the wind of feud will blow to next and the drama continues to evolve!

After Rodgers implied Kimmel had connections to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, McAfee swiftly apologized for his part in the duo's feud. The sports analyst noted his show had been significantly damaged by the quarterback's allegations, saying:

"There could be some things that were certainly, probably ā€” I mean, we're gonna have to hear from Aaron on that ā€” meant to be a shit talk joke that can then become something that is obviously a very serious allegation, that then leads to a massive overnight story."

The 36-year-old expressed discomfort with being linked with "anything negative" and emphasized his team did not typically give room for such controversial topics. "But it's because we talk sā€” and try to make light of everything. Some things obviously people get very pissed off about, especially when they're that serious allegations," he noted.

"So we apologize for being a part of it. I can't wait to hear what Aaron has to say about it. Hopefully, those two will just be able to settle this, you know, not work-wise, but be able to chit chat and move along," McAfee concluded, noting that he understood why Kimmel was upset about the allegations.
