Sources close to the late Matthew Perry are speaking out, claiming the 'Friends'actor had a dark side and was "verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive."
As you know, Perry died "from acute effects of Ketamine," per the autopsy report obtained by The Blast. He was found unconscious in his hot tub and was later pronounced dead.
Following Perry's death, many believe he likely lost consciousness due to the high dose of Ketamine in his system.
Although Matthew Perry claimed he was 19 months sober when he was on his book tour for his memoir, 'Friends, Lovers, and the Terrible Thing', others are claiming he lied and was still abusing drugs.
“Everybody close to Matthew was saying he died from an overdose," one source revealed shortly after Perry's death.
In a new bombshell report, sources are allegedly beginning to come forward, including those who state that Perry had been "verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive."
Matthew Perry Was 'Abusive' According To Sources
Matthew Perry allegedly had a dark side, according to a source who had wished not to be named.
“All he knew how to do was cause pain and play the victim," one source told US Magazine, while a second source stated that Perry “wasn’t a horrible human being. [But] he was so warped in his addiction that he wasn’t himself and the man he should be.”
“Everyone just wanted him to be OK, and he was awful," one of the sources told the outlet, adding, "He would get pissed off about little things and then flip the narrative about what really happened to make himself the victim. [He would] escalate the situation so he could say, ‘Poor me. I’ve been hurt, and you abandoned me.’ He put people on a ride from hell.”
More specifically, an incident that occurred in March 2022 left close friends of Perry's very concerned as his abuse became even more physical.
Matthew Perry Allegedly 'Shoved' His Friend 'Onto A Bed'
Both sources, who spoke to the outlet, said that on one occasion, the 'Friends' actor and his best friend at the time, Morgan Moses, got into a confrontation after she became concerned that Perry was abusing prescription drugs.
Perry became “irate” and he "threw [Moses] into a wall and threw something at her and shoved her onto a bed."
In the past, the source claimed that Perry had punched walls and flipped tables before, but "this time, he took threats and hints of violence into actual violence.”
After Perry calmed down, the source claims he still told Moses, "If I wanted to hurt you, I would have.’”
Following the incident, Moses reportedly fled the home, and the second source claimed that Perry was “mortified” over what had transpired.
“He was panicking because the person who was always by his side had left him,” the source said of Perry trying to maintain a friendship with Moses, however, she couldn’t get past the alleged incident and the friendship was broken.
“Morgan was his best friend, and he burned that to the ground. He pushed her to her absolute breaking point,” the source said.
Matthew Perry Reportedly Abused His Ex-Girlfriend
The incident with Morgan Moses was not the only incident that the sources had claimed happened. An ex-girlfriend of Perry's, who wished to remain anonymous, said she threatened to sue the actor for emotional and psychological abuse.
“She claimed that he was abusive and got her addicted to drugs, including oxycodone and painkillers,” the source told the outlet of Perry's ex-girlfriend.
A source close to that ex also spoke out, verifying the first source’s story, stating that “Their relationship was on and off for a few years," but they ultimately ended things for good in 2020, naming the substance abuse as "a big part of the breakup," adding that the 30-year age gap also played a role.
"I think he took a lot of advantage of her because he got her hooked on drugs," the source stated.
It should be noted, it is unclear if Perry was abusing drugs at the time of his death.
The autopsy report stated that the cause of death was "acute effects of Ketamine", and although Perry was utilizing Ketamine therapy at the time of his death, his last known treatment overseen by a medical professional was over one week before he passed, meaning the Ketamine in his system could not have been from therapy as the drug's half-life is only a few hours.
