One joke in particular has gotten a lot of attention -- and yes, we are referring to the viral Taylor Swift moment.

"The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift," the comedian said at the start of the big Hollywood event. The camera then panned to the pop icon, who did not look amused and just sipped her champagne to stay quiet.

As Koy continued with his jokes, the camera panned to many other celebrities to get their reactions to the jokes live, which many did not seem too thrilled about -- including Selena Gomezand Helen Mirren.

Following the big night, many fans took to social media to address the comedian's opener, with many finding his jokes "misogynistic".

Reneé Rapp Was Not A Fan Of Jo Koy's Golden Globes Jokes

Fans were not the only ones to address the jokes made during the Golden Globes as 'Mean Girls: The Musical' star Reneé Rapp took to TikTok to call out the comedian.

In a new TikTok video, which was filmed for 'Today with Hoda and Jenna', Reneé Rapp and the three other 'Mean Girls' stars -- Angourie Rice, Avantika and Bebe Wood -- shared their “in” and “out” trends for 2024 -- and Rapp did not hold back.

“My outs… First is the man that yelled at me this morning at 8 a.m. and told me to smile. Go to h--l,” Rapp said, adding, “And also my out was the man that was making a bunch of jokes about women last night at the Golden Globes.” She was, of course, referring to Jo Koy.

Another joke that made headlines was one about the hit film, 'Barbie', which stars Margot Robbieas the lead and Ryan Gosling as Ken.

"'Oppenheimer' is based on a 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and 'Barbie' is on a plastic doll with big b--bies,” Koy said while on stage. "The key moment in Barbie is when she goes from perfect beauty to bad breath, cellulite, and flat feet. Or what casting directors call character actor!"

After the joke, the cameras showed some of the 'Barbie' cast and crew, including director Greta Gerwig and stars Ryan Gosling and Issa Rae, all of whom were not laughing.

Following the not-so-great response Jo Koy received, he reportedly got defensive and blamed his writers and the fact that he only had a few days to prepare for the show.

"Yo, I got the gig 10 days ago, you want a perfect monologue?” he said, off-script, according to TIME. “Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me, right. Slow down. I wrote some of these, and they’re the ones you’re laughing at.”
