'Mean Girls' star Daniel Franzese has just confirmed that the entire original cast wants to do a sequel of the iconic 2004 film -- That would be so fetch!

A comedy/musical adaptation of the 2004 film will hit theaters this weekend -- 'Mean Girls: The Musical', which has fans once again talking about a possible sequel to the original movie -- with hopes of bringing back the entire original cast, including Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert.

While the new adaption of the movie does star some of the original cast, the iconic characters, such as Cady Heron and Regina George, are played by different actresses, meaning this is not a true sequel and it is just a musical adaption, based on the 2018 Broadway musical, 'Mean Girls'.

Tina Fey is the one behind the original movie script and the 2018 Broadway music adaption.

Although the 2024 musical is not a sequel to the 2004 movie, fans of the popular film will spot some cameos from the original cast, including Tina Fey and Tim Meadows.

Franzese is not the only 'Mean Girls' actor to confirm that the cast would be on board for a sequel. In 2022, Lacey Chabert, who portrayed Gretchen Wieners in the 2004 movie, spoke to Jimmy Fallon, admitting she would "absolutely" be willing to do a second 'Mean Girls' film.

“I think it would be so much fun to see where these women are now and if their kids are the new mean girls,” she told the host of the night show. “I would love to know what they’re doing.”

Plus, in 2020, Lindsay Lohan, who portrays Cady Heron in the 2004 movie, spoke with David Spade about a possible sequel, where she admitted she would be on board, confirming what Franzese told PEOPLE at the 2024 'Mean Girls: The Musical' premiere on Monday, January 8.
