Aaron Carter's Sister Bobbie Jean Carter Buried In A Different Gravesite

The late Aaron Carter's family are grieving the loss of dear Bobbie Jean Carter, whom they recently laid to rest in a private ceremony.

Death has knocked on the famous clan numerous times in the past years, with the deceased's brother, Aaron, taking his final breath in 2022, which was ten years after sister Leslie Carter. Now, the family has bid their final goodbyes to their beloved BJ, whose cause of death remains a mystery.

The sister of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and the late pop singer Aaron Carter was buried in a private ceremony on Saturday, January 6. Her memorial service comes days after she was found unresponsive in her bathroom last December.

According to sources, Bobbie Jean was laid to rest on Saturday morning in Florida, specifically somewhere outside of the Tampa area. The service was a small, private ceremony with only close friends and immediate family in attendance.

It is unclear if Nick attended the event; however, insiders confirmed the Carter matriarch Jane, gave the eulogy. While Aaron was buried in Southern California, his sister's gravesite was placed in Florida to be closer to their mother.

Jane can easily visit her daughter's grave whenever she wishes, given its proximity to her residence, unlike her son's final resting place. Bobbie Jean's obituary, obtained by TMZ, also mentioned her famous brothers and her late sister, Leslie, who passed away in 2012. The document read: 

"Bobbie Jean Carter, of the Carter family, a family enduringly famous for music and more, passed away suddenly in Florida at 41 years old, on December 23, 2023. Her death concludes a tragic trinity that began with the untimely death of her sister Leslie in 2012 and the death of her celebrated brother, Aaron Carter, in November 2022."

The statement continued: "Bobbie Jean, lovingly called "BJ" by her family and friends, enjoyed considerably more than 15 minutes of fame, as in 2006 she was recruited, along with her siblings, by her preeminent brother Nick Carter to co-star in The House of Carters, a Reality TV series on E!"

BJ, per the obituary, also worked as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist on Aaron's tour in the early 2000s. However, her family's fame caused its less famous members, like the deceased, to face public scrutiny. 

"Never completely out of the spotlight, Bobbie Jean faced life's challenges with grace, resilience, and infectious laughter," the document claimed. "BJ was always very family-oriented, and, to her eternal credit, her greatest source of joy was being the loving mother of her adorable daughter, Bella."

Following news of Bobbie Jean's death in December, her mother released a lengthy statement highlighting her grief. "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time," she explained, adding:

"When I am able to think clearly, I'll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private. However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater."

Jane implored the public for sympathy, concluding her statement: "So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."

BJ's death struck a resounding blow in the Carter family as it came one year after Aaron drowned in his bathtub while under the influence. The tragic incident occurred in November 2022, with toxicology reports showing he had "difluoroethane" in his system, which is commonly found in aerosol dusters and compressed air cans.

"Difluoroethane is a gas commonly used as a propellant in air spray cleaners for electronic devices that can induce feelings of euphoria when inhaled. It is known to have cardiotoxic effects, which can lead to cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac arrest," the toxicology report explained. A common benzodiazepine — Xanax — was also found in his system at the time of death.

Because of these drugs and other autopsy findings, the report concluded that "Mr. Carter became incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects of inhaling compressed gas and taking alprazolam."
