Former film producer and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein has been referenced in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein documents.
As you may know, the former Hollywood producer was sentenced to 16 years in prison for a rape conviction in Los Angeles, which added to a sentence over two-decades-long from in New York.
Now, Harvey Weinstein is being named in a message/phone call as part of the 2015 defamation lawsuit between Virginia Giuffre, an alleged victim of the sex trafficking ring of Jeffrey Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate.
Harvey Weinstein Named In Jeffrey Epstein Documents
"She had on the phone, Mr. Harvey Weinstein," the handwritten note provided in the documents from the defamation lawsuit said.
This may not come as a shock as, according to previous reports, H.W. and Epstein were close associates.
“Weinstein was at Epstein’s apartment in France receiving a massage from one of Epstein’s girls when he attempted to aggressively convert the massage into something sexual,” Brad Edwards, a lawyer for some of Epstein’s accusers, writes in a new book, according to the Sun in 2020.
“The girl rejected his advances. As the story goes, Harvey then verbally abused her for rejecting him," the outlet reported, adding, "Little did Harvey know, this was one of Epstein’s favorite girls at the time and Jeffrey viewed the aggressive mistreatment as disrespectful to him."
The report continued, “Jeffrey then came into the room, got in Harvey’s face, and kicked him out of his house, delivering the message that he was never to come back.”
Weinstein and Epstein were friends for decades, as they were seen photographed together at a costume party thrown by Prince Andrew -- who was also mentioned in the Epstein documents -- for his daughter’s 18th birthday.
Harvey Weinstein Charged With Sexual Assault
In February, a model and actress who accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault told the judge that the incident changed her forever.
“Before that night, I was a very happy and confident woman. I valued myself and the relationship I had with God. I was excited about my future,” she told the judge. “Everything changed after the defendant brutally assaulted me.
“I thought I did something wrong because he chose me that night. I thought I did something wrong for him to do that to me. I soon became invisible to myself and to the world. I lost my identity. I was heartbroken, empty, and alone.”
The jury ultimately found Weinstein guilty of one of the four charges, adding sixteen years to his previous sentence.
Weinstein was convicted in December on charges of rape, and sexual penetration by a foreign object after another victim testified of an assault that occurred in February 2013.
Following his additional 16-year sentence, Harvey Weinstein claimed he was innocent, stating, “I maintain that I’m innocent. I never raped or sexually assaulted Jane Doe 1. I never knew this woman, and the fact is she doesn’t know me. This is about money."
“Please don’t sentence me to life in prison,” he added. “I don’t deserve it.”
