A man was arrested after he grabbed another man's neck and attempted to dip his head into a deep fryer at McDonald's.

A North Carolina pastor, who has been identified as Dwayne Wayden, was charged with assault and battery after he stormed into a McDonald's and attacked his wife's co-worker for “disrespecting” her during her shift.

According to police, Wayden's wife, Latoya Gladney, was training as a manager at a North Carolina McDonald's, where one of her employees, allegedly ‘disrespected’ her.

Wayden (clearly) did not like the way the McDonald’s employee, whom police have identified as Theodore Naquan Garlington, allegedly treated his wife and decided to handle it by attempting to deep-fry his head.

Earlier this year, The Blast reported on McDonald’s testing new strawless lids, similar to those that Starbucks, the popular coffee chain, uses.

“McDonald’s is currently testing strawless lids for our cold beverages in select U.S. markets,” a McDonald’s spokesperson told TODAY at the time. “These lids help optimize our packaging and eliminate the use of small plastics, just one example of the many solutions we’re reviewing as part of our ongoing global commitment to reduce waste across restaurants and advance recycling.”

The fast-food chain first began testing the strawless lids in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but has since rolled out to various locations throughout the United States.

Our ambition is to drastically reduce plastics in Happy Meal toys and transition to more sustainable materials by the end of 2025,” the company said.

Adding, “Since 2018, we have reduced virgin fossil fuel-based plastic in Happy Meal toys by 24.4% globally, and we continue to work on sourcing materials used in Happy Meal toys from renewable, recycled or certified sources.”
