Nick Carter Breaks Social Media Silence Following Sister's Death

A week after Bobbie Jean Carter suddenly passed away in her bathroom, Nick Carter broke his social media silence.

The Backstreet Boys band member, who is the brother of Bobbie Jean, posted a video of his son to Instagram. Although he did not address Bobbie Jean's death specifically, he did caption the post "cherishing these moments."

Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, passed away at age 41 earlier this month. It was later discovered that first responders responded to a call on December 23, where BJC was found in her bathroom, unresponsive.

According to police, no narcotics or illegal drugs were found in Bobbie Jean’s bathroom or her bedroom. Authorities confirmed there were no signs of foul play, but Bobbie Jean’s cause of death is still under investigation.

On Friday, December 30, seven days after Bobbie Jean's sudden death, Nick Carter posted a video of his son playing golf, saying he is "cherishing these moments" with his family.

"Keep on making memories guys," one of Nick's fans commented, as another chimed in, "Have fun and enjoy the day with your son. Thank you for this. I love you."

"Children are the memories of parents. Love you Nick. Keep being an excellent dad for your kids," another fan said.

As one of Nick's followers wrote, "Sending you and your family all of my love."

"We love you so much @nickcarter," another said, adding, "Have fun with Odin. Sending hugs to your way!"

Others, however, are calling Nick out for not addressing the death of his sister. "Did you or say anything about BJ’s passing? I get grief does weird things but it’s sad," one fan questioned.

Another asked, "Shouldn’t he acknowledge that his sister died?"

Bobbie Jean Carter's death comes just over one year following Aaron Carter's sudden death. He was found unresponsive in his bathtub last November.

The investigation determined that the 'I Want Candy' singer died after drowning in his bathtub while under the influence.

Per our previous article, Aaron’s toxicology tests showed “difluoroethane” in his system, which is commonly found in aerosol dusters and compressed air cans.

“Difluoroethane is a gas commonly used as a propellant in air spray cleaners for electronic devices that can induce feelings of euphoria when inhaled. It is known to have cardiotoxic effects which can lead to cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac arrest,” the toxicology report stated.

A common benzodiazepine — Xanax — was also found in his system at the time of death.

"Based on the autopsy findings, investigative reports, and circumstances, as currently known, Mr. Carter became incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects of inhaling compressed gas and taking alprazolam," the toxicology report added.

“This resulted in him becoming submerged underwater, unable to breathe, and ultimately led to his death,” Aaron's toxicology report continued. “The cause of death is drowning due to the effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam. The manner of death is an accident.”

Bobbie Jean Carter's death is still under investigation.
