"Dukes of Hazzard" actor John Schneider claims he never made a death threat against the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

Amid an alleged investigation into him by the Secret Service, actor Schneider has clarified his comment about President Biden being "hung" for alleged "treason."

He said, "Seriously, folks? This is my final comment on this. I neither said nor implied any such thing. Despite headlines claiming otherwise, in my post, I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten a U.S. president as many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my actual post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense."

"It's my position, which I am entitled to have, that some of our nation's leaders in Washington have lost their way, and corruption runs rampant, both on our nation's borders and abroad. Transparency and accountability must happen in order for our constitutional republic to survive. There is no threat implied or otherwise in that statement," the actor concluded his statement.

The Secret Service appears to be investigating the matter, saying, "The Secret Service is aware of the comments made by Mr. Schneider, and as a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence. We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees."

"Trump poses many threats to our country. The right to choose, civil rights, voting rights, and America's standing in the world," Biden said, adding, "But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything."

In opposition to what the president tweeted, Schneider replied, "Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung," he began. "Your son too. Your response is…?" He then signed the post with his name, "John Schneider."

It didn't take long before the Hollywood actor deleted the tweet. Since then, he has been faced with severe scrutiny, with several netizens calling for his arrest.

Joe Biden Says Donald Trump 'Certainly Supported' An Insurrection

The president's recent tweet comes after he broke his silence on Trump's ban from Colorado's presidential ballot by the state's Supreme Court.

During a chat with reporters, Biden responded to questions about Trump being branded an "insurrectionist" due to his involvement in the events that led to the January 6 Capitol riot.

"Well, I think that was certainly self-evident. You saw it all," POTUS said. He further stated that it was left to the Supreme Court to decide whether the 14th Amendment applies. The Amendment prohibits anyone who swore an oath to support the Constitution and then "engaged in insurrection" from being elected into office.

Biden then reiterated that, in his own opinion, Trump "certainly supported an insurrection," adding that he "seems to be doubling down on just about everything."

Trump has since condemned the ruling on his social media platform, Truth Social, calling it "election interference" and accusing the Democrats of being "scared" that he would become president again come 2024.

"They don't want the voters to decide this. There is obviously this deep fear of Donald Trump potentially winning the White House back..." Trump added.

The 2024 presidential election will be held on November 5.
