Jamie Foxx is celebrating a "special" birthday following his health scare. The Hollywood star took to his social media page to share his gratitude for everyone who prayed for him when he was in a "bad way."

Foxx, who was first hospitalized in April, has since made his industry comeback at an award ceremony, where he was honored with a Vanguard award. As of now, fans still don't know what truly caused the actor's illness, as everything regarding the incident is being kept private.

Foxx is full of gratitude on his 56th birthday which he has branded as a "special" celebration following his hospitalization for a mysterious illness.

The actor thanked fans on Instagram for keeping him in their prayers through his health scare, noting that their love and support helped him get through the dark period in his life.

"This birthday is a special one…I wanna start by saying thank you to everyone that prayed for me when I was in a bad way… here lately I've been able to thank some of you personally but I want to say to all of you," Foxx began.

He continued, "I NEEDED EVERY PRAYER… you lifted me through… I was able to make it to today because of your prayers… I was able to make it to today because of your prayers… I consider all of you my family… and thank you to my immediate family, and everybody who chipped in to make sure that I could celebrate on this day…"

Concluding his heartfelt birthday post, Foxx stated that he is sending out "complete joy to everybody" because his birthday "is your birthday."

Fans of the "Django Unchained" star quickly took to the comment section of his post to wish him a happy birthday while noting how glad they were to see him hale and heart after his health emergency made him go under the radar for a few months.

Foxx recently made his big industry comeback after months away from the spotlight at the Critics Choice Award ceremony, where he was honored with a Vanguard award.

The actor was met with a standing ovation as he accepted his award at the show. While giving his acceptance speech, he weighed in on the challenges he faced during his time privately battling his mysterious illness, noting that he "couldn't actually walk" six months ago.

Foxx also addressed fans' claims that he was "cloned" due to the way his illness and recovery were kept under wraps, leading to widespread concern and speculation.

"I'm not a clone, I'm not a clone. I know a lot of people who were saying I was cloned out there," he stated, adding that he "wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it's tough."

"I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art. I watched so many movies and listened to so many songs, trying to have the time go by. Don't give up on your art, man, don't give up," Foxx told the audience at the award ceremony.
