Marvel star Jonathan Majors' trial is seemingly drawing to a close, and the actor will reportedly not be testifying in the assault trial. No more witnesses will be called to the stand as the defense rested their case on Wednesday.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has also authorized the release of scathing audio and video evidence to the public. These include visuals from the night of the alleged abuse incident, a video of Grace Jabbari lying down in their walk-in closet, and also a recording of Majors scolding his now-ex-girlfriend and asking her to emulate black women like Michelle Obama and Coretta Scott King.
Jonathan Majors Will Not Testify As Defense Rests Its Case
Following Wednesday's hearing, it has been confirmed that the "Loki" actor will not be testifying in his trial. The defense has rested their case, and no more witnesses will be called to the stand.
Majors' legal team, comprising Priya Chaudhry and Seth Zuckerman, only brought three witnesses to the stand earlier in the day and rested their case in the afternoon, with closing arguments set for Thursday.
After closing arguments, the jury will then start deliberating. Their decision may be made as early as Friday or the following week, depending on how much time they require to deliberate.
Among the three witnesses called by the defense on Wednesday was Dr. Tammy Weiner, an emergency medicine physician, who spoke as a medical expert and reviewed the X-rays of Jabbari's finger and images of her injuries. Per Courthouse News, Weiner testified that she did see evidence of "any type of twisting injury to the hand or other fingers" in her review of Jabbari's injuries.
The judge reportedly overruled Majors' attorney Chaudhry's repeated questions to the doctor on whether Majors' prying of Jabbari's fingers off his cell phone—as the prosecution had claimed—was the cause of her fractured finger.
Chaudry reportedly asked, "Is the break in Ms. Jabbari's finger consistent with your finger being twisted?" She further inquired, "In your medical opinion, how did Ms. Jabbari sustain this fracture to her finger?" and also, "How likely is it that the fracture to her finger was sustained by twisting?" Judge Gaffey shut down these questions.
According to Variety, the defense also called the NYPD Detective who reviewed Majors' case, Ronnie Meija, to the witness stand, and Elan Ruspoli, Majors' talent agent.
The alleged abuse victim, Jabbari, claimed Majors attacked her on March 25 after an argument over a text message that appeared on his phone. During her testimony last week, Jabbari revealed that the message read, "Wish I was kissing you right now."
On seeing this, she attempted to take the phone away from Majors, but he allegedly grabbed it from her forcefully, causing her to sustain bruises and a fractured finger. She also claimed she suffered a cut behind her ear from the altercation.
Evidence In Jonathan Majors' Trial Has Been Released To The Public
In a surprising turn of events, several pieces of evidence in Majors' trial were released to the public. These included the footage from the night of the abuse,e which saw Jabbari chase after Majors following their car altercation.
The video showed Jabbari hot on Majors' heels, chasing him across several blocks before finally stopping and speaking with a group of strangers outside a building. The actor, who had run ahead of her, could be seen walking back towards the alleged abuse victim in a more composed demeanor.
Earlier in the clip, Majors could be seen trying to force Jabbari back inside the vehicle, which had stopped at a red light.

The driver, Naveed Sarwar, who drove the then-couple in the chauffeured car, recently gave his testimony of the proceedings that ensued between them. It left a startling aura, as the driver involved in the incident alleged that the actor wasn't the aggressor.
Sarwar claimed that while the incident was going on, he kept his eyes glued to the road but "had a feeling the girl had hit the boy... because of the way that she was fighting and the sounds produced."
"The girl became very angry. He was not doing anything; she was doing it," the driver shared, adding that the actor tried to "get rid" of her. He also claimed that Majors was "pushing her back into the car to get rid of her."
Other Pieces Of Evidence Released On Wednesday
Another piece of evidence from the case that was released on Wednesday was Majors' heated exchange with a tearful Jabbari.
An audio recording from the incident,t which took place in September 2022, captured a tense conversation between the "Antman and The Wasp Quantumania" actor and the professional dancer.
"I'm a great man. A great man. I am doing great things," Majors could be heard saying in the recording, which was played in court last week. "The woman that supports me, the one I support, needs to be a great woman…and make sacrifices."

Majors, in the clip, made reference to famous Black women, Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama, as examples of women who supported their husbands' journey to greatness, noting that that's how he wanted Jabbari to be. The dancer, for her part, could be heard sobbing in the background of the clip while apologizing to Majors.

Among the other released pieces of evidence was a video clip of Jabbari lying on the floor in the walk-in closet of the apartment she shared with Majors; Majors' 911 call; Photos of Jabbari's injured finger and slit ear; and a text exchange between Majors and Jabbari where he pleaded with her not to go to a hospital to treat a head wound.
