Action Bronson Partners With Captain Morgan For Epic Rivalry Watch Party

Ariyan Arslani, better known as Action Bronson, has teamed up with Captain Morgan, the official sponsor of the NFL, to host a rivalry watch party alongside NFL legend and former New York Giant, Victor Cruz on Dec. 17. It’s time to settle the age-old debate - who’s the real and best New York football team - Jets or Giants?

The event, being held in New York City, is part of the brand’s season-long “Follow the Captain” campaign, a real-world and social media scavenger hunt for hidden QR codes to unlock exclusive NFL adventures and prizes for fans 21 and older.

Bronson, who has a long list of titles including rapper, chef, wrestler, songwriter and television presenter, has created a menu of tasty foods and Captain Morgan drinks to encourage football fans to enjoy some delicious treats while watching games, especially the Jets vs. Giants rivalry game.

“As a huge Jets fan, my boy Victor Cruz, one of the best of recent times Giants’ receivers, we’re gonna go head-to-head and watch our teams play and battle,” he told The Blast exclusively.

“It’s gonna be a beautiful time. I’ve partnered up with Captain Morgan and the NFL with the campaign is ‘Follow the Captain.’”

While joining in on the campaign, football fans have the chance to win prizes along the way, as well as the big prize of tickets to the 2024 Super Bowl. "Follow the captain. Find the clues. Unlock adventure." 

In his partnership with Captain Morgan, Bronson created two food and drink pairings that are great for any day, but especially perfect for game day celebrations. One pairing is a mortadella sandwich paired with the Strawberry Rumrita. 

“I did the fried mortadella sandwich to go with the Strawberry Rumrita. I really went crazy on the pairings because I felt you need to be able to kick up and put on a show for everyone. You don’t want to just show up with some regular stuff,” he said.

“Fried mortadella sandwich with potato sticks on top, roasted pepper sauce, like you really went to town, not gonna lie.” 

The Strawberry Rumrita that's paired with the mortadella sandwich is like a daiquiri, Bronson said. He feels he made that drink “better than I made anything in my life as far as a beverage,” and that he would “put that beverage up against anything.” 

The other pairing he came up with is the “Wake Up Captain” with a fried churro.

“I feel like the ‘Wake Up Captain’ is something that’s really like, and let me be clear, I’m not one of the best mixologists on earth but let me tell you, when I get that shaker in my hand and that Captain in there, magic happens,” he said.

“‘Wake Up Captain’ is an espresso martini with rum. I don’t have to explain anymore. It has that latte and creamy type of vibe that blows your mind.”

Strawberry Rumrita

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5oz Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
• .75ox fresh lime juice
• .75oz Strawberry syrup
• Garnish: chili lime seasoning and lime wheel

INSTRUCTIONS

• Begin by washing 2 limes, cut 1 lime in half for juicing, and prepare the other lime by cutting it into wheels for garnish.
• Prep your glass by pouring the chili lime seasoning onto a small saucer plate. Using a lime wedge, rim the rocks glass, then roll back and forth in the chili lime seasoning.
• Measure and add Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, fresh lime juice, and strawberry syrup to a shaker.
• Strain into rocks glass over fresh ice.
• Garnish with lime wheel.

Wake Up Captain

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5 oz Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
• .5oz Mr Black espresso liqueur
• 1/4 oz simple syrup
• 1.5 oz espresso - shake and garnish with espresso powder

INSTRUCTIONS:

• In the shaker add in Captain Morgan, Mr. Black, simple syrup and espresso.
• Garnish with espresso powder.
