Mama June's Daughter Secretly Married Boyfriend 9 Months Before Her Death

Reality TV star Mama June Shannon's daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell reportedly tied the knot with her boyfriend in a secret wedding prior to her passing.

According to the marriage records, the couple's wedding certificate reveals that their ceremony took place on March 4 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. Cardwell reportedly wanted to get married while she was still feeling strong enough for a wedding ceremony.

The mother of two unfortunately succumbed to cancer on Saturday, 10 months after she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. Her mother and sisters shared the heartbreaking news on social media, noting that she passed away "peacefully."

Cardwell and husband, Eldridge Toney, got married at an intimate wedding ceremony in Wilkinson County, Georgia, nine months prior to her unfortunate death from cancer.

The 29-year-old reportedly pushed to tie the knot with Toney after learning of her cancer diagnosis in January. At the time, Cardwell emphasized that she wanted to get married while she still felt strong enough to participate in a wedding ceremony. Cardwell and Toney eventually got hitched in March, the same month she was said to have started undergoing chemotherapy.

The couple's wedding reportedly had her close family members in attendance and the camera crew recording footage for her family's WE TV reality show, "Mama June: From Not to Hot."

While the couple had no children together, Cardwell was the mother to daughters Kaitlyn Elizabeth and Kylee Madison from a previous relationship.

Mama June shared the news of her daughter's passing on social media, noting how distraught her family was by the 29-year-old's death. Cardwell battled the severe illness after her stage 4 cancer diagnosis early this year, in January.

“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,” June wrote on her Instagram page.

She continued, “She gave one h— of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won’t and we will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today. We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time.”

June’s heartbreaking post was accompanied by an image of Cardwell surrounded by her family members, including her younger sister, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson.

Shortly after news of Cardwell's death was announced, Thompson, her younger sister and former star of the reality TV show "Toddlers & Tiaras," paid tribute to her sister with a heartfelt post.

The 18-year-old shared a family photo in her post and wrote in the caption, “This is one post I wish I didn’t have to make. Last night we all surrounded Anna with love & let her know it was okay to go. Unfortunately, around 11 pm Anna took her last breath.”

She acknowledged her elder sister's year-long battle with the disease and spoke about the pain she witnessed, adding: “Anna was in so much pain last night but now as a family, we all know she is at peace now.”

"I really don’t know what to say as my heart is completely broken. Watching my 29-year-old sister this last year battle this horrible disease hasn’t been easy. Anna was a fighter & still is. Lord, please wrap your arms around her 2 babies & our family as the next couple of days will make this all a reality," Thompson wrote of her late sister.

In her tribute, Thompson noted how glad she was that her sister waited until she was home before taking her "last breath" and how her sister wished to witness her graduate college.

"I’m so glad that you waited til i was home to take your last breath! I would’ve loved for you to get to see me graduate college but i know you will forever cheer me on in heaven! We will all make sure your legacy lives on forever," Thompson said.

She continued, "And i promise to always make sure to celebrate our birthday like you never left! The sky looks a little bit different today. We will always love you Anna. You hit me hard with his one Anna but i know your [sic] in a better place now and pain-free forever!"
