Hilary Duff Breaks Silence On Passing Of 'Lizzie McGuire' Friend

Hilary Duff, who rose to fame after her starring role on Disney Channel's "Lizzie McGuire," is breaking her silence on the passing of Stan Rogow.

Stan Rogow, the writer and Emmy-nominated producer of "Lizzie McGuire" passed away at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles at the age of 75.

Survivors include his son, Jackson Rogow.

Hilary Duff rose to fame when she starred as Lizzie McGuire in Disney Channel’s hit television series, “Lizzie McGuire” from 2001-2004 and in “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” in 2003.

After Duff learned of Stan Rogow's passing, who was a producer on the hit Disney Channel show and a friend of the actress's, she took to social media to address the tragic event.

"Writing this right now is bringing back so many distant memories of what feels like a completely different time..," she began, adding, "One where I had absolutely no clue where I was heading or how I was getting there, but where I had thatt eagerness and blind optimism that accompanies youth and your first opportunities to step up."

Duff continued, "You heavily cherish the people who first believe and see something in you, and for me, there was a very special person who fought for me to land a role that would change the entire course of my life... and I'm so very sad to hear of his passing today."

The actress then went on to thank the late producer by writing, "Stan - thank you for thinking I had 'that special thing.' Thank you. for all the Lizzie adventures. Thank you for helping create a reality I could never have dreamed of. Thinking of your family and your son Jackson at this time. Rest easy Stan."

Many of Duff's followers flooded the comments section, sharing their condolences.

"If it wasn’t for Stan, we wouldn’t have you Hilary in our childhoods and here after. I’m so sorry for your loss and Thank you, Stan. Rest Easy now," one fan commented.

"omg I’m so sad to read this. Stan gave us a show with so much humor, heart, and comfort that will carry on for generations. i hope he rests easy knowing that," another wrote.

One "Lizzie McGuire" fan said, "What a really sad loss. So glad he helped bring Lizzie McGuire to life and changed your and our lives forever. Never forgotten. RIP."

Meanwhile, another die-hard fan commented, "I used to thank Stan at the end of every Lizzie McGuire episode for bringing you to me when I was like 8.. rest easy."

"Couldn't have said it better. Stan really left a big imprint on our childhoods, and not just with Lizzie either. Darcy's Wild Life and Flight 29 Down were just as memorable shows," one user wrote on Duff's tribute.

"It's been 20 years since watching Lizzie McGuire, but the name Stan immediately rings a bell from the credits. Rest in peace Stan Rogow," another said.
