It seems that Ginuwine "truly" does not remember running into Justin Timberlake in the way that Britney Spears described it in her memoir, "The Woman In Me."

In her tell-all book, narrated by actress Michelle Williams, the "Toxic" singer claimed that Justin put on a Blaccent while addressing the "Pony" artist. The dialogue went viral on social media thanks to Michelle Williams' delivery, but Ginuwine claims he does not remember the event happening at all.

In chapter 10 of Britney's memoir, the Princess of Pop recalled how the "Cry Me A River" singer put on a Blaccent when he approached Ginuwine in New York City.

“His band *NSYNC was back then what people called ‘so pimp.’ They were white boys but they loved hip-hop. To me, that’s what separated them from the Backstreet Boys, who seemed very consciously to position themselves as a white group,” Britney wrote in her memoir. “*NSYNC hung out with Black artists. Sometimes I thought they tried too hard to fit in.”

“One day J and I were in New York, going to parts of town I had never been to before. Walking our way was a guy with a huge, blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards,” she continued. “J got all excited and said so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo’ shiz fo’ shiz, Ginuwine, what’s up homie?’ After Ginuwine walked away, Felicia [Spears’ assistant] did an impression of J … J wasn’t even embarrassed. He just took it and looked at her like, ‘OK, f— you Fe.’”

One user called it "art" while other followers joked that the dialogue was going to help the actress finally get an EGOT.

Ginuwine Does Not Recall The Dialogue In 'The Masked Singer' Interview

Earlier this week, Ginuwine was unmasked as the Husky on the Fox reality series "The Masked Singer." Celebrities are disguised in elaborate costumes and a panel of four judges are given clues to guess the identity of the performer before they are unmasked.

During an interview explaining what it was like competing on the show's tenth season, Ginuwine was asked by People magazine about the viral moment from the pop star's book, "The Woman In Me." Ginuwine was asked:

“Your name came up in Britney Spears' memoir because she claimed Justin Timberlake put on a blaccent while meeting you. Did you hear about that?”

“Yeah, yeah, I definitely heard about it,” he responded. “People were calling about that. But I can tell you I don't remember that happening. I truly don't remember that happening.”

“If Justin would've did something like that, I probably would've looked at him like, ‘Why are you acting like that?’ If he did that, that would be something that I would remember. That would've definitely stuck out,” he added. “So nah, I don't remember that happening.”

However, fans of the pop star were quick to call him out online.

Britney Spears Fans Defend Her After Ginuwine's New Comments

One Britney Spears fan account reminded everyone that just because Ginuwine doesn’t remember the events doesn’t mean that she was lying, especially since the encounter happened twenty years ago, during the time that Britney and Justin dated from 1999 to 2002.

The fan account points to other details in the book as proof that Britney remembers the event quite well. She described what Ginuwine was wearing, how he was flanked by two security guards, and how Britney’s assistant mocked Justin after Ginuwine walked away.

Britney also claims that this was the trip where Justin Timberlake got his big “T” necklace as further proof that the event did, in fact, happen.

For what it's worth, the "Gimme More" singer took to Instagram shortly after Ginuwine's comments started making headlines, but it did not seem to be about the controversial incident.

Britney Spears Gets Cryptic On Instagram

On Thursday night, Britney took to Instagram to share a piece of artwork that showed a woman’s face partially concealed by dogs. She went on to say, "Or even been emotional in a car by yourself but you can sense you’re not alone !!! Most people say that’s your intuition !!! Your inner goddess !!! It’s pretty powerful !!!"

There’s a sense of safety and knowing in being with such !!! I call them wise souls !!! Believe it or not I think children are more in tune with their sixth sense than we know !!!
