It explained that the prolific actor was diagnosed with cancer on October 27, when a grown tumor was found on the bottom of his mouth, encroaching on his teeth. Hudson is scheduled to undergo a 10-hour surgery on December 7, where a large part of his jawbone will be removed, along with his lymph nodes and part of his leg bone.

The surgery will also reconstruct a new jaw, and the actor will be treated with radiation and chemotherapy. The GoFundMe campaign also explained how Hudson got into a dire financial situation despite being an actor.

"In January of 2022, following the COVID-19 pandemic, Ken lost the SAG-AFTRA health insurance that he had used for his whole career," the message noted. Although he has switched to another insurance, the campaign notes that there are huge out-of-pocket costs for caregivers/skilled nursing to help with recovery.

"Ken Campbell is a family man. A loving father of two children with an admirable lust for life, and a passion for acting, writing, & sports. It is possible that this procedure will affect his ability to work as an actor in the future," his daughter wrote. "We are asking for your help so that Kenny can use the time ahead to return to health, and spend more time with family & friends. Every prayer, positive thought, dollar, or gesture of support means the world to our family."

At the time of this writing, over $62,000 has been raised out of $100,000, and fans seem to be responding well. Some of the comments read, "Your films have brought me so much joy! Time for blessings to boomerang your way."

This fan penned, "You're a fantastically talented actor who has brought me and my family joy over the years through your performances, which we continue to watch and enjoy. Thank you very much for that. This is the least that I can do to show you my gratitude."

Will A True 'Home Alone 3' Ever Air?

As fans get to rewatching the holiday classics like "Home Alone," they can't help but wonder if there will ever be a remake that will feature the original stars.

"Home Alone" tells the story of an eight-year-old boy — Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) — who has to protect his house from a pair of burglars — Marv (Joe Pesci) and Harry (Daniel Stern) — after he is accidentally left at home by his parents during Christmas.

The first film was highly successful, leading to a sequel "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" just two years after. However, the third sequel was finally released, but to the disappointment of fans, none of the main cast was there.

"While you never say never, I think that it would be difficult to replicate not only the success but also the overall innocence of the originals. It's a different time now; attitudes and priorities have changed in 30 years," Pesci said.
