Mario Lopez's Injured Eye Sparks Hilarious Reactions From Fans

"You should see the other guy" was one of the many jokes fans penned following the "Saved by the Bell" star's latest social media update. The teasing began when the actor shared three pictures depicting his incredible work ethic following an early morning incident on Tuesday, December 5.

The first two pictures in the post captured one side of Lopez's face looking red, swollen, and bruised. The injured area extended from the TV personality's eye to his cheek, with the swelling making the wounded eye look smaller than the other side.

In the first slide, the father of three zoomed out to show the difference between the two sides of his face, while the second image was a close-up snap of the injured area. Surprisingly, the bruise was nowhere to be seen in the third picture, with the "America's Best Dance Crew" host flaunting his usual ageless glow and charming dimples.

No, the Chula Vista native did not miraculously heal in mere hours but could showcase his best self on TV thanks to the beauty-enhancing power of makeup. The Young Artist Award winner explained what happened in his Instagram caption, writing:

"Eye was busted this morning, but a little makeup magic & just like that… We're back on TV! # Jiu-jitsu #LumpedUp."

Although his hashtag hinted the injury was a jiu-jitsu accident, fans created several hilarious speculations about what happened and who busted Lopez's eye. Some people referenced a scene from "Saved by the Bell" where the actor's character A.C. Slater fought with Mark-Paul Gosselaar's character Zachary "Zack" Morris over a girl.

"Had that rematch with Zach Morris, I see," someone teased with another, asking: "You and Zack still fighting over Kelly?" Others labeled "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" star's wife, Courtney Mazza, the culprit and playfully blamed the father of three for vexing his spouse.

"Wifey has a good lefty," a fan declared while a fellow theorist joked: "Lost the battle to your wife for that last piece of cake, huh?" Another sympathized with the Broadway alum, "Poor baby, what did you do?? That Courteney had to hurt you."

"Jiu-jitsu, the gentle art…" a sarcastic commenter chimed with another agreeing, "That's right, hashtag jiu-jitsu cause boxing would never." More fans teased Lopez about the other guy, asking, "What does the other guy look like?" and "Who did this to you??? Tell me who, and I'll take care of it!"

Mario Lopez Joined His Son To Compete In A Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

This was not the "Saved by the Bell: The College Years" star's first jiu-jitsu experience, as he previously competed with his son, Dominic. In February, the 50-year-old proved that age was just a number by participating in the fighting tournament.

The TV personality shared a clip of his performance on Instagram, in which he effortlessly picked up and slammed his opponent to the ground. Not only did Lopez show the physical prowess of someone half his age, but the entertainer also secured a flawless victory and earned a gold medal.

Meanwhile, his son Dominic finished the competition with a bronze medal and joined his father on the podium for pictures. The "Dancing with the Stars" alum captioned the proud moment:

"When your son asks you to compete in the same tournament as him, you do it. You're never too old to challenge yourself & set goals. Thank you to all the homies who helped get us ready! #LopezBoys #Jiujitsu #GracieBarra.”

The "Access Hollywood" host's wife, Courtney, echoed similar sentiments underneath the post. Per PEOPLE, the matriarch penned her admiration for the actor and their son, writing: "My boys kick a--. SO PROUD OF YOU BOTH!!!!"
