Lynne Spears Says Britney Spears Is 'Happy' They Have Reconnected

It looks like Lynne Spears and her daughter Britney Spears are back on good terms again.

The 68-year-old mom was present at Britney's birthday party on Friday night, as the pop star celebrated turning 42. Also making an appearance at the party was her older brother, Bryan Spears.

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse as Britney's dog Snow had to be rushed to the vet at 2 AM on Saturday morning with an issue concerning her paw, but fortunately, the "Toxic" singer assured her fans on Saturday that "Snow is fine" and it seems that she and her mother are better than ever.

On Monday, Lynne Spears headed back to Louisiana from Los Angeles, where she just spent the weekend reconnecting with her daughter. It’s been rumored that Britney has been incredibly lonely ever since her husband, actor Sam Asghari, filed for divorce in August, prompting her to reach out to her estranged family for support.

A photographer caught up with Lynne at the airport and told her she was “glowing” in a video shared by TMZ on Monday morning. When asked how it felt to reconnect with her estranged daughter after so many years, Lynne replied, “Wonderful.”

The photographer called her “patient” and “gracious” before asking how Britney felt about having her estranged mother back in her life after so many years. “She’s happy,” Lynne replied as she navigated the busy airport. She then took a phone call while the photographer gave her directions, telling her that “precheck” is a “good thing” before Lynne took off to catch her flight.

In late August, sources revealed that Lynne Spears was standing by her daughter amid her divorce from the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor. On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, the 29-year-old actor filed for divorce from the 42-year-old pop star citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. One insider told the Daily Mail that Lynne was “furious” with the actor for “abandoning” her daughter and was “begging” Britney to leave her Thousand Oaks estate in Los Angeles and come stay with her in Louisiana to “heal and regroup.”

“Lynne is furious at [Sam] for abandoning Britney,” a source shared at the time. “He took a vow to stand by her side through sickness and health – and he knew she was not well [when they married].” They continued, “Lynne is begging [Britney] to leave LA and live with her,” adding, “LA is toxic and the only thing keeping her there was [Sam]. Lynne believes she can heal and regroup in Louisiana, then return to LA when she is ready.”

The source went on to say that Britney's family thought that Sam was a "kind guy" when the two first connected on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. “The sensible people in her life will be sad that the marriage is over. The feeling was that he thought he could save her, but maybe there is no saving Britney,” the source said, while a second insider alleged that Sam “checked out of the marriage” when he realized Britney “could not be saved.”

They claimed that the actor “sat at home and played video games all day” before deciding to call it quits on their marriage after fourteen months. “Instead of working with her family to get her help, [they feel that] he abandoned her as soon as things got tough,” the insider claimed.

In two deleted Instagram posts, the “Girl In The Mirror” singer hinted that she was looking to write a second memoir to explain why their marriage broke down. Sam filed for divorce after Britney had reportedly signed off on the final copy of her manuscript, so nothing about the split was included in “The Woman In Me,” which was released on October 24.

“Britney’s not looking to go after Sam,” a source told Us Weekly. “She just wants [to talk about] why the relationship broke down.” In her first memoir, Britney called the actor a “gift from God” and talked about how the chemistry between them was “insane” when they first met. “We couldn’t keep our hands off each other,” she added.

A day after her book was released, Sam was asked how he felt about her memoir. “I’m freakin’ proud of her, and I hope she takes over the world,” he said, as per Page Six. When asked about the part where she called him a “gift from God,” Sam added, “That made me smile, to be honest.”
