Charity Lawson, the most recent star of "The Bachelorette," has been named one of the top 40 women of 2023.

The reality television star, who is currently competing on "Dancing With the Stars," is a child and family therapist from Columbus, Georgia. She earned her Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Auburn University.

Lawson first appeared on reality television when she went on "The Bachelor" to compete for Zach Shallcross's heart.  After being sent home, Lawson became the next "Bachelorette" lead, where she ended up getting engaged to Dontun Olubeko.

She has made a name for herself as she voiced her opinion and sent men home who were not respectful or not on the show for the right reasons. Many people have grown to love the 27-year-old -- so much so that Variety has named her one of the top 40 powerful women.

"To be named a part of @variety’s top 40 most powerful women in reality TV is unbelievable. It is because of you all resonating with my presence and story on TV for me to be here ✨," Lawson wrote on social media after learning of the news. "Variety is the first to honor all of the accomplishments of these incredible women, and this truly was a special night. Grateful to be here!"

Fans of Lawson's immediately flooded the comments section to congratulate the Georgia native.

"You’re just made of all God's glory. Your smile and kindness, your grace and beauty, and now talent. You absolutely set the bar," one of her followers said.

Another commented, "You literally deserve the world, so happy to see you shining always."

"Literally a woman I aspire to be like every day! Such a role model & beautiful soul, you deserve it," one of her fans said.

Dontun, Lawson's fiancé, also congratulated her, writing, "Congratulations on the honor of making this list, powerful is an understatement. Another notch in your long list of accomplishments. Many more to come."

“The Bachelorette” ended with a beautiful proposal from Dontun Olubeko to Charity Lawson. The two are still together and are now celebrating their new relationship with the rest of the world.

Olubeko and Lawson made history in “The Bachelorette” franchise as they are the first monoracial Black couple to come out of the show.

When speaking to Bachelor Nation, Charity Lawson stated, “It means so much, and in my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined this journey going the way that it did and to find a love like this. For that to be Black love is such an inspiration.”

She continued, “I am so excited and hopeful to hear from the viewers at home. The outpouring of love and messages have shared that we are inspiring people and that is the best thing possible, truly.”

Dontun Olubeko also spoke out about the historical moment, expressing that, “It means a lot. It’s a really amazing position to be in, and we are both so grateful to be in the position to have shown this love to everybody. That wasn’t the intention. We both went into this leading with love, but for it to end with Black love is truly just the cherry on top.”

He went on to say, “It’s bigger than that, even. It’s showing America and the world what Black love can look like. Hopefully, we can break down some stereotypes that some people still hold to this day. We are grateful for the opportunity and grateful to be in this position. We just want to be a reminder that Black love can be healthy and beautiful.”
