Kourtney Kardashian is all about setting her family straight, including her mom Kris Jenner.
The fourth season of "The Kardashians" ended with an awkward conversation between Jenner and her daughters, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.
In an attempt to find out more about her mother's take on therapy, Kourtney opened a can of worms indicating that her mother's "feminine energy" was trapped inside her.
Kourtney Kardashian Schooled Kris Jenner About Therapy
Avid viewers of "The Kardashians" know fully well that Kourtney does not back down from having some of the most difficult discussions with her family. So, it came as no surprise when the "One Life to Live" actress delved into a tense conversation regarding Kris being a "massive control freak."
Making it clear that she had observed a pattern in her mom and wanted to know the reasons behind the behavior, the 44-year-old asked, "What about you makes you have this need to be so controlling? Are you ever curious about yourself about why you're so controlling?"
Khloe sprung to Kris' defense, pointing out that the 68-year-old will not change, especially at her age, and suggested that Kourtney simply "accept" the way she is.
"You weren't like that when you were in your 20s, but also you had a husband who led the way, and now you lead the way. It does exist, you can be back in your feminine energy whenever you desire," Kourtney pestered.
The observation set Kris on edge and she brushed off her eldest daughter's argument, expressing that she was content with her boyfriend Corey Gamble. This prompted Kourtney to clarify that feminine energy involves "self-care, not overthinking, not overdoing."
She then directly inquired if her mom went to therapy, causing Kris to shift the conversation to a "cute little dimple" on her face and a wooden egg holder in the kitchen. At this point, Khloe is heard quipping in a confessional, "God bless Kourtney because she's trying to have this therapy talk, and God bless my mom because she's definitely not."
Later in the conversation, Kourtney asserted that the Kardashian women's pattern of picking "bad partners" might have originated with her maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Campbell.
Even though Kris claimed that her mom "picked an amazing partner with Papa," the Poosh founder disagreed, highlighting her grandmother's three marriages:
"She was married three times. We all have picked people we thought we could change different things about them and we can't."
This is not the first time that Kourtney, who exchanged vows with Travis Barker in 2022, will address the Kardashian-Jenner women's choice in men.
The awkward talk with the momager comes an episode after Kourtney called out the Kardashian-Jenner women for not being more serious about setting boundaries in their relationships.
During the episode, the Poosh founder emphasized that the men in her family were fortunate because her mother and sisters placed a premium on being "one big happy family" rather than establishing boundaries and supporting each other.
She expressed, "We can make sure Khloé looks her best, she's dressed up, she feels good, she's in glam, takes good photos, we can do all that. But really making sure the person feels supported, stood up for, sets the boundaries they need to set and is supported in that, 'cause in this family, it's not. Like I said, it's lucky for you guys. And it is great for the kids, but then it is also, like…"
The 'Kris' Host Vetoed Her Man's Recent Hollywood Appearance
Prior to Kourtney's interest in her "feminine energy," Kris discussed being in control of some of Gamble's choices. During a September 28 episode of the hit Hulu show, the momager and Gamble discussed him losing out on a role in the western series, "Yellowstone," with Kim and Khloe.
The chat saw an excited — and slightly inebriated — Kris share that she was looking forward to watching the next episode of "Yellowstone."
To this, Corey playfully pointed out, "If it wasn't for you, I'd be a Yellowstone star." The statement left Kim and Khloe puzzled, prompting them to seek clarification from their mother.
The business mogul acknowledged her part in the internet personality's situation, stating, "I thought he was going to have to have a romantic relationship."
As it turned out, the 43-year-old — who has been with Kris for nine years — was offered a role on the Paramount Network hit show. However, the deal did not materialize and now fans know why.
