Teffiney Worthy has dealt with two recent tragedies - one of her dogs died in a doggy daycare flood and just months later, the other dog was stolen from her during an armed robbery.

Worthy has issued a plea on social media for help finding her stolen pup and started a GoFundMe to help fund a private investigator to help her get her French Bulldog back.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, Worthy took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask the public for help in finding her stolen pup.

"I hate feeling exposed, weak, and vulnerable like this on social media. I have been very private especially after my tragic loss this summer. It’s very draining..Please help me find my baby. He was stolen yesterday from me in Brookland Washington DC," she wrote in the caption of a photo of her pup, Hendrix.

A recently released police statement tells Worthy's story.

"Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District Detectives’ Unit are working to locate a stolen French Bulldog puppy and identify the suspect who took the dog during an armed robbery," the statement reads.

"On Saturday, November 26, 2023, at approximately 4:02 p.m., the victim was entering her building when she was approached by a man with a taser who demanded her dog. The victim complied and the man entered a black Nissan with tinted windows and paper tags and fled eastbound on Monroe St NE."

The police statement goes on to explain that the French Bulldog goes by the name Hendrix, and brown and white coloring, and is 6 months old. The suspect is a black male, 5'5 in height with a slim build, wearing a black coat, black ski mask, denim jeans and colorful shoes.

Worthy shared a video X of the suspect and asked everyone to "repost, fund, and pray."

Worthy told WUSA9 that two black cars with paper tags pulled up in front of her home on Monroe Street, Northeast, as she was getting back from walking Hendrix.

"When he got out of the car and started running, I panicked and couldn't put my pin in time to get me and Hendrix in safely," Worthy told WUSA9. She said the man was carrying what appeared to be a taser and told her, "Give me your dog or I'll kill you."

Worthy believes that the theft was a targeted attack. She said she's seen both cars at a nearby gas station before the robbery.

"It was heartbreaking. It was heartbreaking looking in his eyes," she continued. "He just didn't want to go, and you know, he was very shook."

Worthy has since set up a GoFundMe page to help fund an investigator and reward money to try to get her beloved dog back.

"Hi, my name is Teffiney. I am currently searching for my dog Hendrix who was stolen from me by a threat to end my life with a weapon in hand. It seems like a double loss this year for me. First loss was due to my puppy dying at District Dogs NE day care facility from negligence/flood and recently to being threatened to end my life if I didn’t give up my dog," she wrote on the fundraising page's description.

"Please help with funding to find a private investigator and reward money so that my pup can get home safe and swiftly. He’s literally been my support, my anchor."

There's also a reward being offered for the return of Hendrix.

According to the police statement, "Anyone who can identify this suspect, has knowledge of this incident, or has knowledge on the location of the puppy should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia."
