Matthew Perry's Favorite 'Friends' Episode May Shock You

Prior to his tragic death, Matthew Perry, who was best known for his role as Chandler Bing on "Friends," revealed which episode of the sitcom was his favorite.
The ironic thing about his favorite episode is that it is one where Chandler barely speaks, as Perry does not have many lines written into the script.
Which 'Friends' Episode Was Matthew Perry's Favorite?
Chandler Bing is known for his quips and one-liners, but, ironically, Perry's favorite episode of "Friends" is Season 1’s “The One With the Blackout” -- one where Chandler barely speaks. In the episode, Chandler Bing finds himself stuck in an ATM vestibule with Victoria's Secret model Jill Goodacre during a citywide power outage.
When speaking on the episode, Perry admitted, “The interesting thing about that episode was I didn’t speak much; it was mostly in voiceover. We prerecorded what I said, and I had to react.”
Although prerecording lines and then reacting to them may seem hard, Perry said that Goodacre helped make it easy for him.
“Let’s face it: Jill Goodacre is hot, so it wasn’t that difficult,” he said in the 2022 interview, adding, “I [remember] spitting my gum out, and it stuck to the wall. It was my choice to just stay frozen in fear and embarrassment.”
Plus, because Perry did not film scenes with his "Friends" co-stars during the episode, he was able to sit back and watch them all film, which was something really special for Perry.
“What was great about that night was that I was also able to watch the other three-quarters of the show, which was these five great actors doing ensemble work that was amazing," he said in the interview, referring to co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. "This was the first time I realized, ‘Gee, this is really clicking'."
Last month, police responded to a 911 call to assist with a possible ‘water rescue’ at Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades home. When they arrived, they reportedly found the 54-year-old “Friends” actor in his hot tub, unresponsive.
The actor is believed to have drowned in his hot tub, but the true cause of death has not yet been revealed. Prescription anti-depressants and prescription anti-anxiety medications were reportedly found in Matthew Perry‘s home. Sources say that no illegal narcotics were discovered at the scene.

Matthew Perry Had ‘Nightmares’ About His Role On ‘Friends’
Prior to his passing, Matthew Perry admitted that he had “reoccurring nightmares” about his hit sitcom show, “Friends," because it was a trigger for him regarding his addiction.
“I have this recurring nightmare—I’m not kidding about this,” he said prior to his passing. “When I’m asleep, I have this nightmare that we do ‘Friends’ again and nobody cares.”
Perry, who starred in “Friends” for 10 seasons alongside Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow, stated that he did not want to do a reboot of the show because he worried about the reaction from viewers. In his nightmares, he explained “We do a whole series, we come back, and nobody cares about it. So if anybody asks me, I’m gonna say no.”
He did, however, agree to do a “Friends” reunion, which was just one episode of the cast getting back together and discussing the show rather than a reboot of the show, which would have consisted of an entire season of replaying their iconic characters with a script.
