The Plumbing Industry Will Also Face Its Yearly Service Calls Influx Over The Thanksgiving Holiday
Before the menus of the superstar prisoners, a recent survey of data points identified the city with the highest number of plumbing emergencies on Thanksgiving Friday, which has now been called “Brown Friday.”
As The Blast reported, Portland, Oregon, topped the list this year with a 23% increase in searches for common plumbing issues on “Brown Friday” compared to the seven days before and after Thanksgiving Day 2022.
The city also ranked high for searches like "clogged drains" and "drain cleaning" in November and December 2022. Other cities in the top five include Virginia Beach, Virginia, Raleigh, North Carolina, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jacksonville, Florida.
The cities are all experiencing a notable surge in plumbing problems post-holiday. Gearing up for the busiest day of the year, which doubles as “Black Friday” among shoppers and retailers across the United States, plumbers are anticipating an increasing influx of service calls, which goes as high as 50% above the average Friday.
