In the filing, Holden is demanding spousal support from the "Will & Grace" star. The pair have been married since August 3, 1997, with Holden listing their separation date as "to be determined." The estranged couple has no minor children so there won't be an issue of child custody. The pair have a son Finnigan.
However, Holden, who also has some movie credits to her name, wants spousal support. She wants McCormack to pay her spousal support but requests that thecourt'sabilitytoaward support to the "Alien Trespass" star be terminated. In other words, she doesn't want to pay anything.
Holden also requests that her estranged husband cover the attorney’s fees and costs.
It is not sure if McCormack and Holden have a prenuptial agreement in place but she asks the court to "Determinerightstocommunityandquasi-communityassetsanddebts" as well as confirm their separate properties and assets.
As you know, the couple has been married for a very long time, so most likely they will split everything down the middle.
Details Of Eric McCormack & Janet Holden's Marriage
Not much is known about McCormack and Holden's marriage as they keep a pretty low-key profile. However, People Magazine reports that they met in 1994 on the set of "Lonesome Dove: The Series." The Edmonton native was the show’s assistant director.
They soon fell in love but kept the romance secret for a while they kept their affair a secret. "There was a little bit of mystery and danger, which was fun," Holden once said in an interview. He also said of their affair in a 2007 essay for the Guardian, "At first she wasn't too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her."
A year later, they let the cat out of the bag and showed up at the show's wrap party. However, their romance hit its first obstacle when McCormack relocated to L.A. while she remained in Canada. Nevertheless, their love survived the distance and in August 1997, they walked down the aisle.
The 60-year-old credited Holden for holding him down and preventing him from partying hard during "Will & Grace" days. "I think I was very lucky that I didn't get well-known until my early thirties. If it had happened when I was younger, you might have seen me falling out of nightclubs. I think I conducted myself as a much better human being because I was already married when all that came along."
McCormack hasn't responded to the divorce, nor has the former couple addressed the split on social media.
