The law firm handling the case released a statement, "Today, Wigdor along with the Law Office of Kevin Mintzer, filed a summons and notice on behalf of Jane Doe against music executive Jimmy Iovine.  Ms. Doe’s allegations include that Iovine engaged in multiple instances of sexual abuse and forcible touching of her, including a specific incident of sexual misconduct in NYC in 2007.  At this point and time, we will not be commenting further on this matter."

In the filing, Jane Doe is "seeking damages to redress the injuries Plaintiff has suffered as a result of being sexually abused, forcibly touched, and subjected to sexual harassment and retaliation in violation of anti-discrimination laws in or around August 2007."

The woman also wants the case to be tried in New York County, claiming the "venue is proper as a substantial part of the events and omissions giving rise toPlaintiff’s claims took place in New York County."

It should be noted that the law firm is the same group of lawyers who filed the sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. Diddy and Iovine are quite close with the Bad Boys Record founder calling his wedding, "the blackest wedding with a Rabbi [he had] ever seen."

The famous friends were also reportedly accused of racist and sexist comments by Aubrey O'DayDawn Richard, and Shannon Bex of Danity Kane in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

While Iovine's is yet to comment on the case, the entrepreneur has been embroiled in a scandal of his own involving women. Back in 2015, Iovine, who owns Beats By Dre alongside Dr. Dre, made headlines for a sexist remark about women in the industry.

During an appearance on CBS's This Morning to speak about Apple Music, the New York native said women often find it difficult to make music playlists, hence the inspiration behind the streaming service.  Speaking on the show he said:

"I just thought of a problem: Girls are sitting around talking about boys or complaining about boys when they have their heart broken or whatever. And they need music for that, right? It's hard to find the right music."

He continued, "I always knew that women find it very difficult at times – some women – to find music. And this helps makes it easier with playlists, curated by real people." As expected, his remark caused a stir, with many labeling as it "stupid."

One fan wrote, "Dear Men, and I am completely serious... I don't think you think things as stupid as Jimmy Iovine says," while another remarked, "If you go into the gender settings in iTunes and click GIRL a small digital Jimmy Iovine appears holding a boombox over his head playing U2."

Although host Gayle King tried to come to his rescue, claiming the discussion was taken out of context, Iovine still had to apologize.

"We created Apple Music to make finding the right music easier for everyone – men and women, young and old," he said in a statement. "Our new ad focuses on women, which is why I answered the way I did, but of course the same applies equally for men. I could have chosen my words better, and I apologise."
