YouTuber Harry Jowsey made headlines as many "Dancing With The Stars" fans felt he should have been eliminated weeks ago.
Last night, during Taylor Swift Night on the ABC reality competition show, Jowsey and his partner, Rylee Arnold, were "finally" voted off the show. Following the Swift-filled night, the social media star spoke to the press, opening up about how he received "death threats" over the dance show because he "should have been sent home" weeks ago.
Harry Jowsey Opens Up About The Death Threats He Received
Some of the comments left by fans on social media threatened Harry Joswey and his family. When speaking on those threats, the social media influencer admitted that “it was really scary."
"It was a really dark time and I didn’t know who to call on, because none of my friends had been through that stuff,” he told Page Six after the most recent show of the death threats he received.
In order to clear his head, his friends took his phone away and sent him on a “big spiritual weekend” to escape the hate. “As I turned my phone off, it didn’t matter, because everyone that mattered around me loved me and that was the most important bit," he explained.
A few weeks ago, front-runner Lele Pons and her partner, Brandon Armstrong, were eliminated from "Dancing With the Stars," which left fans and viewers furious as they felt Jowsey should have gone home instead of other "better" dancers -- such as Lele Pons and Barry Williams.
Harry Jowsey opened up in his pre-dance package two weeks ago about how he felt discouraged and bad about himself due to the nasty and harsh comments that were being left on the "Dancing With The Stars" social media page.
One example of a comment left read “From a Harry fan, he absolutely needs to go. I’ve been watching this show for 10 years and went in rooting for Harry. But it’s week eight and people who can actually dance are being booted because of people who vote hotness > actual content.”
Harry Jowsey Lands In The Bottom Week After Week
During "Most Memorable Night," Jowsey and his partner received a combined score of 18/30 from judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli, landing them at the bottom of the leaderboard. The social media star received similar scores nearly every week.
When speaking on his low scores, he admitted, "I was very deflated, very defeated. Seven days a week, you learn this dance, doing the lifts and it’s really hard. And then you all work up for this moment just to get kind of s–- on. So it sucks. But yeah, that’s the beauty of it all.”
Some of the other comments that came in week after week on the "Dancing With the Stars" social media pages included "America really voted off Lele [Pons[ just so we can see Harry [Jowsey] and Rylee [Arnold] do this exact move over and over again?" and “This is the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen."
“Let’s be honest, should’ve been Harry [Jowsey]. He dances so bad and is not getting any better."
Harry Jowsey and his partner, Rylee Arnold, who are rumored to be dating, were eliminated during Tuesday night's show.
