Rapper Kanye West has settled a lawsuit by a disgruntled ex-Yeezy employee, who accused him of violating labor laws.
According to legal documents documents obtained by The Blast, West and the former employee, Taliah Leslie, have negotiated a settlement after years in court.
Kanye West Settles With Former Yeezy Employee
The duo had been at loggerheads for years over alleged labor code violations by West and his company.
In 2021, Leslie slammed West and his fashion brand for failing to comply with the California Labor Code due to a policy that misclassified its employees as independent contractors, depriving them of their wages and other benefits an employee would typically receive.
At the time, she accused the "All of the Lights" rapper of not paying her for mandatory trips to and from out-of-town locations, including Cody, Wyoming, and Paris, France.
She also accused West of failing to reimburse her cell phone, internet usage, and other expenses linked with compulsory travel, all of which she needed to carry out her duties efficiently, as reported by The Blast.
More Ex-Employee Troubles For Kanye West
Besides his court battle with Leslie, West allegedly believes an ex-employee who threatened to have him institutionalized has been following him.
Photos and videos obtained by Daily Mail show Kanye's former trainer Harley Pasternak in the lobby of the hotel where West and his children are staying.
While speaking to the outlet, a source deemed Pasternak's presence "extremely suspect." The insider expressed concerns, stating, "We have grave concerns as to what this creepy operative is doing in Ye's hotel. We are very concerned indeed about his motives and intentions."
The source added: "This is the man who threatened to 'drug Ye to Zombieland.' Why has he suddenly shown up here?"
Kanye West Hospitalized For Temporary Psychosis
In November 2016, West faced hospitalization due to a temporary psychosis at Harley Pasternak's West Hollywood residence. The incident was reportedly attributed to sleep deprivation and extreme dehydration following a period of intense Twitter activity, political rants, and canceled concerts.
At the time, the "Runaway" singer spent nine days at UCLA Medical Center's Resnick Neuropsychiatric Unit during his recovery.
Months after his recovery in 2017, Pasternak praised West's fitness and health, stating: "I've been working with Kanye for 13 or 14 years, He's really a fit guy. ... Kanye's active. He's exercising. He's eating well and he's got a great family."
The celebrity personal trainer added: "But he's really a creative person. We would go on these walks and have great conversations about music and architecture."
On his 2018 album, "Ye," West seemingly confirmed a bipolar diagnosis, later referring to it as a "superpower" during a radio interview. However, the rapper later suggested a misdiagnosis during a conversation with Donald Trump in October 2018.
In subsequent years, West has asserted that he was "mentally misdiagnosed" and pointed to Pasternak as the alleged cause. In November 2022, the "Praise God" hitmaker leaked text messages wherein Pasternak reportedly threatened to have him institutionalized again in the aftermath of West's anti-Semitic rants.
In the alleged texts, Pasternak wrote: "First, you and I sit down and have a loving and open conversation, but you don't use cuss words, and everything that is discussed is based in fact and not some crazy stuff that dumb friend of yours told you, or you saw in a tweet."
It continued, "Second option. I have you institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you, and you go back to Zombieland forever. Playdate with the kids just won't be the same."
West, citing these messages, claimed he had been "mentally misdiagnosed" in 2016, emphasizing his commitment to standing for his truth despite potential consequences.
He stated: "What should be obvious by now is that I was raised to stand for my truth regardless of the consequences. So I will say this again I was mentally misdiagnosed and nearly drugged out of my mind to make me a manageable well well-behaved celebrity."
Well, at least this legal issue is behind him.
