Harry & Meghan Reportedly Won't Be 'Welcomed With Open Arms' If They Visit Royals For Christmas

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle might receive a cold reception if they visit King Charles to spend the festive season.
It was recently speculated that the duo was willing to make the trip but had yet to receive an invitation. Reports have now claimed that many senior members of the royal family would not welcome them with open arms.
Prince William, Harry's brother, is allegedly one of those opposed to such a visit from Harry and Meghan, given their icy relationship.
The Sussexes Will Not Be Welcomed For Christmas
Recent reports have indicated that Harry and Meghan are open to spending the festive season with King Charles at Sandringham. However, some insiders claim that not everyone would be receptive to their gesture.
Per a source, the Sussexes' recent warm advances and willingness to visit His Majesty for the holiday season has been seen as "bizarre," especially since they haven't visited the royal residence since 2018.
"Which begs the question, why now," the insider said about the situation as reported by the Daily Mail. "Is it something to do with the fact that some of their commercial deals, such as Spotify, have fallen around their ears and they have been subject to ridicule in the U.S. in shows such as South Park and Family Guy?"
The source also seemed to suggest that Harry and Meghan have now realized that "moaning about how awful being a member of the Royal Family is, isn't such a great strategy after all?"
Prince William Allegedly Against Harry & Meghan Visiting
Although the Sussexes' visit has yet to be confirmed, given that no invitations have been sent out to them, it is believed that the Prince of Wales, Prince William, is one of those who would feel uncomfortable about their presence.
For a brief period, Harry and Meghan, along with William and his wife, Kate Middleton, were tagged as the Fab Four. However, the relationship between both parties is said to be nonexistent, having declined steadily since Harry and Meghan opted to step back from their roles in the royal family in 2020.
Recently, it was reported that "there's no going back" between Harry and William and that their perspectives have changed over time, per Hollywood Life.
It was even speculated that "in the eyes of some within the institution, Harry is a threat to the crown" and "his freedom to exert his own thinking outside of the confines of the institution has made him the enemy."
King Charles Might Opt For Harry & Meghan To Visit During New Year
Due to the strained relationship between the two brothers, some insiders also suggested that the King would instead choose for Harry and Meghan to visit him in Scotland over the New Year.
This timing aligns with when William and his wife are expected to have returned to their Anmer Hall home, taking away the possibility of an explosive meeting.
"It would certainly have the advantage of killing two birds with one stone; extending an olive branch to one son without causing difficulty to the other," said an insider, per the Daily Mail.
Another source claimed arrangements had already been made for others before Harry and Meghan seemingly indicated interest, which would cause too many logistics problems if altered this late.
"Christmas plans are normally nailed down by now as Sandringham isn't a particularly big place and there's not a lot of room for the entire extended family," the insider said, adding, "New Year in Scotland would be more likely."
Harry & Meghan Called King Charles On His 75th Birthday
Earlier in the month, there appeared to be a "turning point" in Harry and Meghan's relationship with King Charles after they had a warm conversation with him on his 75th birthday.
The former senior royals were noticeably absent from the actual royal festivities, reportedly due to not getting an invitation. Nevertheless, they reached out to the monarch through a call, seen as an initial effort to rebuild ties with him.
Besides Harry and Meghan talking to the King, their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, also sent their birthday wishes to their grandfather. They did so through a pre-recorded video where they were seen singing "Happy Birthday."
There are also reportedly plans for another phone call between the King and his son in the coming week, although the specific time remains unclear.
