"Christine Brown or Christine Woolley?" is the burning question on fans' minds about the "Sister Wives" star's last name.

The TLC alum's surname became the trending debate amongst her social media followers following the entertainer's update about her blossoming new relationship. After being the first wife to end her spiritual bond with Kody Brown, Christine found love again with David Woolley.

The lovebirds wasted no time solidifying their romance and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in October 2023. Although it has been less than two months since the pair said their vows, fans wondered if and when the reality TV star's last name would reflect her new marriage.

'Sister Wives' Fans Clash About Christine Brown's Last Name

Over the weekend, the former LuLaRoe clothing retailer blessed her Instagram followers with two heartwarming couple pictures. In both snaps, the media personality and her new husband looked happier than ever, with radiant smiles and glowy complexions.

Despite the love emanating from these adorable pictures, the reality TV star's fans were more concerned about Christine's continued usage of her ex-husband's surname. The comment section was divided, with some supporting the 51-year-old's choice and others begging her to let go of her past. One commenter chimed:

"That GLOW….time to change your last name tho…let yourself be completely free of that one person with the last name Brown. Looking gorgeous and so genuinely happy…love this for you!"

Another Instagram user agreed Christine's surname should be changed but called out the entertainer's intentions for the delay. "Why does she not change her name from his, I don't understand it if she's not out for fame," the individual wrote. Suspecting the TV personality's feelings for Woolley, the fan added, "If she loved him, she wouldn't keep Kody's name."

"If I was your husband, I would be very upset that u are still using the Brown name. You were never even legally married, so why keep the name of that person," someone criticized with a fellow supporter begging:

"Christine, please, for the love of God, change ur name and move on from sister wives; it's over now. I'm sure David would appreciate that sooo much."

A fifth commenter used themselves as an example, claiming, "I've been married 4x, and I always changed my name to reflect my husband at the time, but it's a personal choice. Christine COULD change her name & we'd all still know who she is, but it's her choice. I always explained to my kids I was changing my name & they understood."

Meanwhile, the 51-year-old's supporters clapped back with various reasons for the media personality's unchanged surname. A fan's explanation read, "Having a last name for so many years becomes part of your identity. Many of her children has that last name, so I don't see why it's such a big deal. I have not changed my last name after my divorce 11 years ago."

"OK, so I don't want to hear anymore. She has a verified account; she can not just change her name; there is a process. I'm sure she'll get it done as soon as possible," another reasoned, with a third agreeing:

"She didn't change her Instagram name because, famously, it's BROWN. Relax, guys."

Addressing Christine's critics, one commenter fired back, writing, "D— people, let her do her. Is she hurting you by keeping a name! NO ITS NOT. Its just you wanting to be mean to people. It's 2023; didn't everyone want to change who they are? She chose to keep a name. GET OFF YOUR D— SOAP BOXES AND STOP BEING KARENS ONLINE! LET PEOPLE LIVE TH."

Christine Brown's New Husband David Woolley Makes His Debut On 'Sister Wives'

Before fans' heated debate about Christine's last name, TLC teased the entertainer's new husband's appearance on their reality TV show. Woolley appeared in the preview of the show's upcoming One-on-One special interview with Sukanya Krishnan.

The interviewer asked Janelle Brown if she had met her co-star's husband, and the Plexus saleswoman replied, "Yes. Oh, I think he's great." The media personality's response cued Woolley's entry as Krishnan yelled, "David, come on out!"

Meanwhile, Christine beamed brightly, clearly enjoying the moment as she proudly declared, "You're going to meet the love of my life." Fans got to see the new man in the TV personality's life walk in to shake the interviewer's hands before the scene changed.

The upcoming episode marked Woolley's first appearance on his wife's TLC series, but his face is not the only highlight in the teaser clip.
