During the show, the social media influencer lost 151 pounds and left the program with an incredible feat of 178 pounds. However, her inspiring weight loss nearly never happened as the 40-year-old initially applied to star on "The Biggest Loser" show, but showrunners thought she was a better fit for "Extreme Weight Loss."
In a 2018 interview with Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll, Mallory revealed she was inspired to lose weight following the death of her sorority sister at the age of 29. At the time, the deceased entertainer said:
"I was literally waking up every day like… this may be my last day waking up, like, I don’t know what’s going to happen for me. When it’s playing on your mind that I might need to do something about my weight because I’m afraid I might die too, then you might need to pay attention to something like that."
Because of her zeal for life, Mallory continued her fitness journey after the weight loss show and frequently documented her progress on Instagram. The influencer dropped an intense workout routine on September 12, less than two months before her death.
Besides sharing her fitness goals, Mallory gained more followers by showcasing her makeup skills. The late media personality also had a knack for fashion and enjoyed spending quality time with friends, as seen in the content uploaded on her Instagram page.
Naturally, the deceased's over 135,000 followers were devastated by her passing and shared numerous grief-stricken reactions on her page. According to her released obituary, Mallory's funeral will occur on November 19 in Lithonia, Georgia.
