According to reports, R. Kelly believes that the information allegedly given to Tasha by the prison officials afforded her the ability to share unflattering details about him online.

According to the disgraced singer, Tasha and the three prison officials' alleged actions were an invasion of privacy, greatly harmed his reputation, and caused him emotional distress.

Kelly, who is suing for damages, also accused the U.S. government of negligence, claiming it allowed prison personnel to allegedly have access to his private information and share it.

The singer's claims date as far back as 2019. Following his conviction in his Chicago case, Kelly was relocated to the federal prison facility in North Carolina to serve his sentence.

Prior to his trials, rumors of Kelly's perverted behavior with underage girls had swirled for years. However, the "Trapped In The Closet" singer denied those allegations, claiming they were made to rip him off his fortune and soil his reputation.

In 2019, a Lifetime documentary titled "Surviving R. Kelly" eventually tipped the scales in favor of his victims.

In the documentary, Kelly's victims spoke in-depth about his manipulative actions, which started with him exploiting his fame and their love for him as his fans to prey on them and then being pulled into a harem-like situation with other women.

Besides pleasuring him, they were reportedly forced to perform other lewd, debasing acts, which could sometimes involve his entourage.

The overwhelming evidence from the documentary and public uproar led to charges being ultimately pursued against Kelly and, eventually, justice for his victims.

Since his deplorable actions were revealed, there have been calls for Kelly's music to be banned from streaming sites. This outcry led to the #MuteKelly Campaign on Instagram in 2019 after the release of the "Surviving R. Kelly" Lifetime docuseries.

Hollywood A-listers like Jada Pinkett Smith and Neyo were vocal in expressing their disapproval of the music artist.

He was later banned in 2021 from operating or starting YouTube channels, with the Google-owned platform also shutting down his previous channels, RKellyVevo and RKellyTV. Both channels hosted the official uploads of his songs and videos.

However, Kelly's songs remain on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music, allowing his diehard fans to access them despite calls for removal.

Still, the embattled star can no longer upload new music on any of those platforms, as seen by the removal of his 13-track album, "I Admit It." The music project was released last December.
