Lauren Sánchez: I 'Blacked Out' After Jeff Bezos Proposed On $500M Yacht

Lauren Sánchez marveled at Jeff Bezos' grand engagement ring, recalling the proposal on his $500 million yacht in May. She admitted to being awestruck when he revealed the ring, secretly placed under her pillow.

In a recent interview, Sánchez approaches wedding plans cautiously, uncertain about the scale and location. While expressing admiration for designers like Christian Dior and Valentino, she emphasized no final decisions. The couple's summer included a Mediterranean journey aboard his yacht and celebratory events with notable guests.

During a chat with Vogue magazine, Bezos' fianceé Sánchez shared her awe at the grand engagement ring. Recalling the proposal on Bezos' $500 million yacht in May, the former TV anchor admitted, "When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit."

She revealed that the Amazon founder had secretly placed the ring under her pillow and discovered it as she prepared for bed.

Regarding wedding preparations, Sánchez, currently undergoing a divorce from her husband of 13 years, shared that she is proceeding with caution.

She expressed uncertainty about the wedding's scale and location, stating, "We're still thinking about the wedding, what it's going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don't know yet. We've only been engaged five months!"

Discussing her wedding attire, Sánchez expressed admiration for fashion houses like Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino.

However, she emphasized no concrete decisions yet, stating, "There are so many incredible designers! Once I get a minute, I'll slow down." 

The 53-year-old mentioned prioritizing Bezos' 60th birthday party in January before delving into wedding details.

When asked about taking Bezos's last name, she asserted, "Uh, yes, one hundred percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos."

She also addressed the responsibilities of being the partner to one of the richest men in the world and emphasized shared teamwork in their relationship. 

"I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously," she said. "We always look at each other and go, 'We're the team.' So everything's shared."

During the Vogue interview, Bezos praised his fiancée, noting her "amazing intuition" and perceptive abilities, even describing them as "almost witchy powers."

"She sees things that other people don't see. She's really very sensitive to other people and what they're thinking," he explained.

He highlighted how she encouraged him to invest more time in relationships, adding: "She has really helped me put more energy into my relationships. She's always encouraging me: 'Call your kids. Call your dad. Call your mom.'"

The business mogul also expressed admiration for Sánchez's role model qualities and her knack for staying connected, stating: "She's also just a very good role model. She keeps in touch with people. I've never seen her put makeup on without calling somebody. Usually her sister."

In response, Sánchez affectionately described Bezos as "the life of the party." 

"He's just extremely enthusiastic, and extremely funny. He can be really goofy," Sanchez gushed. "I mean, you've heard him laugh, right?"

Throughout the summer months, the lovebirds embarked on a journey across the Mediterranean aboard Bezos' $500 million superyacht, Koru, signifying "new beginnings" in Maori.

Their extravagant vacation, which started in May, included travel stops at Portofino, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, a celebratory trip in the South of France, followed by a visit to Ibiza, among others.

In August, their engagement festivities continued with a lavish soirée on Bezos' yacht along the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Renowned guests, including Bill Gates, Paula Hurd, Kris Jenner, STAUD founder Sarah Staudinger, and Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd, joined the festivities.

Later in the month, the couple were spotted in Croatia alongside Usher, Katy Perry, and Orlando Bloom, extending their series of summer getaways.
