Even though Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” came out on October 24, Lynne Spears waited until November 9 to refute one claim in the book.
In her tell-all memoir, the now 41-year-old pop star revealed that she made “peace” with never seeing her family again when she found out that her mother had thrown out several valuable items, including her doll collection.
However, in an Instagram post, Lynne, 68, revealed that she never threw out the items and gave fans a look at several items in Britney’s priceless collection.

Starting off her post with a black journal bound on a bed, Lynne shared an Instagram carousel full of photos of dolls that once belonged to Britney Spears. Tagging her daughter in the post, Lynne wrote, “I'm not sure who told you I got rid of your dolls and journals but I would never do that!”
“That would be cruel because I know how much they mean to you. They are special to me too because of the years we spent collecting them,” she continued. “Of course I still have your things, and I am happy to send them to you if you'd like me to. Please let me know and know how much I love you!”
Britney Said She Realized She Never Wanted To See Her Family Again During The COVID-19 Pandemic

In her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” the “Toxic” singer explained that she found “peace” when she realized she “never wanted to see” her father Jamie Spears, 71, her mother Lynne Spears, 68, her brother Bryan Spears, 46, or her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, 32.
Britney said that her family stopped answering her phone calls, so she traveled to Louisiana during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown to see them. During the visit, the Princess of Pop noted that her beloved Madame Alexander doll collection, which she received as a child, had been “thrown away.”
Britney had stored several belongings at Lynne’s house when she was admitted to a mental health facility for a few months in 2019. In addition to her doll collection, Britney also claims that her mother had gotten rid of several year’s “worth of [her] writing” and “binders” of poetry that she had written throughout her life.
The “Overprotected” singer said it felt like her family had “thrown [her] away” through her belongings and decided it was “time to find God” and cut ties with her family once and for all.
Fans Have Mixed Reactions Over Lynne's Post
Although Britney Spears has turned off comments on her Instagram posts, Lynne left comments on as fans expressed their frustration.
“OMG she never learns. Just pick up the phone and call her or have one of your people reach out to her. Why do you need attention on Instagram?” one user asked. “Don’t you think she has prob tried to reach to her and has gotten nowhere and no phone calls back? This is probably the only way she knows how to reach her at this point. Be more kind in a situation that is not our business to begin with,” another follower responded.
“I’d suggest you send them to her or her lawyer. You used to send meaningful gifts. Get back to those days. Send a nice private package with her things and be her mom. Look back and think about what is meaningful,” a third fan chimed in. “Are you for real!!!??? You could have done this privately,” another follower shared.
“Why do you do this to your daughter? Why can’t you call her? You are only making this more difficult on yourself…. You guys have done ENOUGH harm to her already. Wasn’t having her held captive for 13 years enough?” another fan asked.
Britney Spears was subject to a conservatorship from February 2008 to November 2021. During most of that time, her financial and personal affairs were largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, although Britney has lamented – both on Instagram and in her memoir – that her mother did not more to try to help her get out of the conservatorship.
At this time, Britney has yet to publicly respond to her mother.
