Fans are eager to see what Britney Spears has to say about her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, in her memoir “The Woman In Me,” which is officially released on Tuesday, October 24. One insider told Us Weekly on Thursday that part of the book focuses on their relationship from when they were both much younger.

Britney, now 41, reportedly describes how she came home from her 2002 tour to see her mother, Lynne Spears, dealing with the aftermath of the divorce from her father, Jamie Spears. Britney reportedly calls the then 11-year-old Jamie Lynn “a total b----” because of the way she was treating Lynne amid the divorce.

The “Gimme More” singer also noted how Jamie Lynn “ruled” their home, which caused Britney to feel “betrayed” by all the ways that her younger sister had “changed” while she was on tour. Although Jamie Lynn started to emerge as a star in her own right when she appeared on “Zoey 101,” her sudden pregnancy made her decide to step out of the limelight and prompted her decision to raise her daughter back in Louisiana.

During an emotional June 2021 court hearing, as reported by the outlet, Britney Spears accused both Jamie Spears and the “Sweet Magnolias” actress of taking advantage of her during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 until it was struck down by a judge in November 2021.

“I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you. I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them,” Britney said at the time.

Jamie Lynn, however, said that she was on Britney’s side. “Maybe I didn’t support her the way the public would like me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you I’ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “And I’ll support her long after. Note that.”

Although the “Zoey 102” star released her own memoir titled “Things I Should Have Said” in January 2022, it seems that Britney is still frustrated by the things that her sister had to say about her. Britney took to social media at the time to ask her sister to “please, please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books” and even called her sister “scum,” as previously reported by The Blast.

Despite their public social media feud at the time, it seems that Britney wants to get the last word over Jamie Lynn’s memoir. The insider told the outlet that Britney does discuss the memoir in her book, but did not divulge exactly what was said, except that Britney “slams” it.

In January 2022, Jamie Lynn appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in order to give fans more insight into her strained relationship with her sister. “There’s two separate things here — there’s the relationship I have with me and my sister, and there’s this other part where I have the right to defend my name and defend my family to protect my family,” Jamie Lynn said at the time.

“Those can be separate where I’m saying, like, ‘Y’all don’t know what the h--- you’re talking about. Here are the facts, and you want the truth? Here’s the truth.’ And then the separate side is that this is my sister who I know and I love, and when every headline’s gone away and everything else is done, I’m still gonna be her sister,” she continued.

“It doesn’t matter. And people need to stop inserting themselves into our situation and egging it on and encouraging it,” she concluded.

Britney Spears' memoir "The Woman In Me" is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
