Reese Witherspoon Breaks Her Silence On Rumors Of Dating Kevin Costner

Reese Witherspoon is breaking her silence on the dating rumors that have been swirling surrounding Kevin Costner.

For those of you who were hopeful these two might have a thing going, unfortunately, it has been confirmed that Witherspoon and Costner are not currently dating and the rumors are "fabricated."

Rumors have been swirling surrounding the "Big Little Lies" actress and the "Yellowstone" actor in light of their respective divorces. However, her reps are breaking their silence, on behalf of Witherspoon, saying it is all hearsay.

“This story is completely fabricated and not true,” the “Legally Blonde” star's rep stated.

It all began after a podcaster put a poll on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, asking if people would ship the two amid their divorces.

“POLL OF THE DAY: Kevin Costner is rumored to be romancing Reese Witherspoon. Do you love this new couple?” asked “Naughty but Nice” podcast host Rob Shuter.

Some fans instantly shipped the two as they responded to the poll. One user said, "Kevin Costner is dating Reese Witherspoon? What??? You go boy!!! You go girl!!!”

The Oscar-winning actress announced her split from her then-husband in March. Despite their breakup, they “have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

Witherspoon then officially filed for divorce from Jim Toth about a week later.

Others, however, were not a fan of the couple. “So there’s rumors of Kevin Costner and Reese Witherspoon dating?! She’s 47, he’s what, 68ish?" another fan said. “Those two? Really? ???.”

Unfortunately for those who were wishing Costner and Witherspoon were an item, her reps say otherwise.

On May 2, it was reported that Costner and his wife of 18 years were breaking up as she filed for divorce.

Following the news, his ex, Christine Baumgartner, claimed Costner broke the news to their children via Zoom.

"After a 24-year relationship, from his hotel room in Las Vegas, Kevin told our three children that we were getting divorced over a 10-minute Zoom call without me present," she claimed. Adding, "I am still confused by his motivation to do this via a very short Zoom session, especially since he was planning on being home five days later. He also could have easily come home from Las Vegas to have the conversation in person."

"He disregarded my proposal to do what I felt was right based on research and my relationship with the children. Instead, he insisted that he had the right to tell them that we were getting divorced 'first' and tell them privately 'without me present'" she said.

Costner shares Grace, 13, Hayes, 14, and Cayden, 16, with his ex-wife.

Meanwhile, Witherspoon and Toth share an 11-year-old son Tennessee, but Witherspoon is also a mom to daughter Ava, 24, and son Deacon, 20, whom she shares with her other ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
