“Taking you all back with me a bit… the year is 1998. I had just won the Level 6 TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. 4 gold medals to be exact - I won every event (yes even vault, and got a pet goldfish out of that one lol) but second on bars because I went too high on my cast handstands,” she continued. “Despite that, I was truly on top of the world - In my mind I had just won the Olympic Games… now fast forward to exactly 10 years later.”

“The year is 2008. And this time I did just win the OLYMPIC GAMES. And was on top of the same little world as I was that one day back in 1998 in Texas,” she added as one fan, gymnastics coach Ashley Del Monte Anton, left her a long comment thanking her for her work in inspiring future gymnasts.

'Thank you so much for writing about the inspiration behind this beautiful design'

“Thank you so much for writing about the inspiration behind this beautiful design as it shows just how much these moments mean to young gymnasts,” Ashley wrote. “As you said winning level 6 states to you at the time was like winning the Olympics; the statement just solidifies why it’s so important that those in the gymnastics community put their all into what they do to offer great and meaningful experiences to gymnasts who are young and not yet at the elite level as the sensation of victory holds the same relevance at every level.”

“Many times you hear statements like oh it’s just level 4, it’s just Xcel bronze, but for that gymnast in that moment, it’s just the largest and most significant moment of her life, and that deserves all the respect from coaches and meet organizers. Thank you for authentically displaying this sentiment,” she added.

The 34-year-old entrepreneur has not left her gymnastics past behind her. In fact, on September 16, she asked her boyfriend Ben Weyand to try to do a cartwheel with her for National Gymnastics Day. “When I asked my boyfriend what to post for National Gymnastics Day…" she wrote in the caption. "PS: this was the one of two songs on my Olympic playlist. The other one was obvi 'Lose Yourself' by @eminem.”
