"Technology gone wrong" is the working theory that law enforcement is working with regarding Alan Ruck's recent car crash.

The Hollywood veteran left authorities baffled last week after he lost control of his high-tech truck and crashed the vehicle into the side of a pizza building. How and why the "Succession" star's Rivian R1T ended up kissing bricks remains a mystery; however, cops suspect the car was too much for the entertainer.

Alan Ruck's Car Crash Not Influenced By Alcohol Or Impairment

The Ohio native's vehicular accident occurred on the night of October 31 around 9 p.m. at Raffalo’s Pizza, a restaurant located at La Brea Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. Fortunately, the horrifying crash had no victims except the pizza parlor's unsuspecting wall.

Despite causing significant property damage with his truck, the "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" star had zero clues about what sparked the unfortunate ordeal. While recounting the accident to first responders, the TV personality allegedly stressed that he did not know what caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

At the time, authorities had no reason to doubt the 67-year-old's side of the story as law enforcers at the scene found no evidence of Ruck's involvement. The entertainer was reportedly not under the influence, distracted, or otherwise impaired when the accident occurred.

Given the lack of typical crash factors, the LAPD is writing off the incident as "just an accident." Sources for the police department confirmed the news to TMZ, stating that they believed the accident stemmed from Ruck's Rivian R1T truck being incredibly high-tech.

The electric truck car, which was brand new when the father of four smashed it into the pizza building, featured several impressive systems, including Dual Motor, Performance Dual-Motor, and Quad-Motor. These features could make the vehicle go from 0-60 MPH faster than the "Bad Boys" actor could blink.

It remains unclear if or how these high-tech properties played a part in the crash; however, the working theory is that Ruck's Rivian R1T truck had been too much for the 67-year-old to handle. On that note, the LAPD is closing the case and leaving the rest to the insurance team.

Alan Ruck Seen Limping In First Appearance After The Car Crash

Days earlier, the "Going Places" star addressed the incident in his first public appearance since the crash. The Ohio native was spotted by paparazzi while limping to his blue SUV dressed in a casual ensemble and a concerning grey brace on his left knee.

The TV personality assured photogs that he was doing physically well despite the bad crash, saying, "I’m fine, and thank God nobody was killed." However, when camera operators noted it was great seeing Ruck's ability to walk after the horrifying accident, the entertainer clarified the misunderstanding behind his knee brace. In his words:

"This isn’t from the accident. This is because I’m getting older."

Additionally, the SAG Award winner addressed fans’ remarks about his recent car crash being his second headline-making accident. The father of four made waves in the 90s for crashing a Ferrari “kit car” while filming the 1986 hit movie, "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off."

"I guess that’s what people are saying," Ruck said to brush off the viral narrative before waving goodbye to the paparazzi. “God bless everybody.” As stated, there were no victims in the "Spin City" star's accident except the pizza parlor's wall.

In the viral video of the crash, the Hollywood veteran's bumper was lodged into the brick building, resulting in severe property damage. Another clip captured a multiple-car crash in the middle of an intersection on Hollywood Boulevard.

This footage showed what occurred before his car slammed into the pizza joint's wall. The accident seemingly began with the TV personality's truck colliding with another car from behind and pushing this vehicle into the intersection.

Fortunately, no pedestrians were struck in the accident, but reports claimed two individuals were injured in the collision. These people were reportedly not in dire states as they were conscious and breathing following the shocking incident.

Ruck also escaped the accident unharmed as he was seen standing away from his truck in one of the viral social media videos. The "Twister" actor presumably called 911 as he was filmed talking to someone on his cell phone while bystanders assessed the damaged wall.
