Angelina Jolie Slammed For Calling For Ceasefire In Israel-Hamas War: 'So Uneducated'

Angelina Jolie is speaking up about the current Israel-Palestine conflict, but her message isn't being well-received.

On October 7, Israel faced an attack from Hamas that resulted in thousands of deaths. Israel has since retaliated, attacking Gaza starting by cutting water and electricity to sending air strikes that have killed more than 3,600 children.

Jolie believes Israel is taking things too far and voiced her thoughts, but she has been met with major backlash.

The "Maleficent" actress took to Instagram to release a statement. Alongside a heartbreaking photo of the rubble of Gaza, she wrote, "This is the deliberate bombing of a trapped population who have nowhere to flee. Gaza has been an open-air prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave."

She continued, "40% of those killed are innocent children. Whole families are being murdered. While the world watches and with the active support of many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians - children, women, families - are being collectively punished and dehumanized, all while being deprived food, medicine and humanitarian aid against international law."

Concluding her message, the "Mr & Mrs Smith" star called out world leaders for being "complicit" in the one-sided word. "By refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and blocking the UN Security Council from imposing one on both parties, world leaders are complicit in these crimes."

Days ago, the award-winning actress shared a similar message on social media. "Like millions around the world I have spent the last weeks sick and angry at the terrorist attack in Israel, the death of so many innocent civilians, and wondering how best to help," she began. "I am too praying for the immediate, safe return of every hostage and for the families who carry the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one."

However, Jolie claimed that despite the "act of terror" that happened in Israel, it didn't justify "the innocent lives lost in bombing a civilian population in Gaza that has nowhere to go." She added, "No access to food and water, the possibility of evacuation, and not even the basic human right to cross a border to seek refuge."

In no time, fans flooded her comments section, with many supporting her opinion. One fan praised her courage, writing, "Thank you. been waiting for you to speak up, Angie. back when everyone didn’t care about refugees, you’ve been among the courageous ones raising matters on the people impacted by wars."

Another follower declared, "FINALLY Angie!!!!! For a min I though we had lost you to the dark side! But can you call it what it is???? A GENOCIDE! Now can you actually do something about it! Your connections! Just do something please ??❤️ Palestine needs you! We need you! We need a moral compass ????."

This comment read, "Thank you ?? You have no idea what this means for so many people. To use your platform to speak up for the atrocities that are happening now. To speak up for those who are unable to. Thank you for your courage."

"Thank you for using your platform to call for peace and an end to this egregious violence ? #ceasefirenow??," wrote another impressed fan.

However, not everyone supported Jolie's opinion, with others bashing her for being ignorant. One angered fan wrote, "I thought you were much smarter than this. I am disappointed to discover how your mind works. You could learn a lot from your father, who really does have a much better grasp of moral clarity here."

Another follower bashed the three-time Golden Globe winner, writing, "You sound so uneducated @angelinajolie," while this Internet user remarked, "Are you, Miss Jolie, aware of the fact that this camp has hundreds of kilometers of tunnels underneath it, filled with terrorists? That Hamas regularly uses the children and women living in this area as their human shields?"

The disappointed fan continued, "Are you also aware of the fact that the IDF asked the people living there to evacuate to the southern area to avoid getting hurt?and that Hamas was trying to prevent their evacuation to cause more casualties just for posts like this? Please don't cooperate with the misleading propaganda, please stand against the monsters of Hamas."

Another added, "Funny you were completely silent when babies were being beheaded. Maybe try convincing Hamas to surrender and stop using their children as human shields."
