TikTok Food Critic Keith Lee Considers Tour Delay Over Safety Concerns

After stopping in Atlanta on his food tour and encountering some issues, TikToker and food reviewer Keith Lee had some things to say about the experience. He took to TikTok to share some important information about what he does and what he wants people to know about his process.

Lee's TikTok videos get millions of views, and his recent Atlanta reviews were no different.

After reviewing a handful of restaurants in Atlanta and encountering some issues along the way, Lee wanted to clear some important things up. His "Keith Speaks" video, shared less than a full day ago, has already received about 3 million views and more than 18,000 comments.

"Okay, let's talk about it," he began his viral video. "Every restaurant that me and my family go to, we're either A. invited by the restaurant themselves, or B. was told about the restaurant a hundred plus times, from locals, from people who mention me, from people who email me, DM me. 99% of the time, I never go to a random restaurant. With that being said, my opinion was asked for."

He continued to explain that "so many narratives are being pushed" and he wanted to clear the air with some insight.

"Let's be honest. What else do you want from me? If I go to a bunch of restaurants and have a string of good experiences, then I'm being too nice, I'm lying, the narrative is being pushed that my eye roll is fake and I'm lying just to help people," he continued.

"Then on the same hand, if I go to two or three restaurants where I don't have the best experience, I'm tearing down businesses, now I'm being mean, I need to shut up, I need to mind my business, I need to sit down. Again, I can't win for losing."

The popular TikToker continued to explain his frustration. While he understands everyone has an opinion on the situation, disagreeing and not liking what he has to say is fine with him, but when safety becomes an issue, that's another story.

"But when my safety and my family's safety starts to come into play, that's where I draw the line at. But what can't happen is with my family, or the restaurants or anybody's safety starts coming into play, is absolutely overboard," he said. "Especially when I was asked to give my opinion, cause you're telling me my opinion only matters if it's positive."

If Lee's opinion is positive, all is good. But when it's negative, Lee is being told to "sit down somewhere and you don't know who I am."

Lee explained that while there was a lot of positive that happened in Atlanta, it's being "shunned by the negative."

Lee is clearly frustrated with how things went overall in Atlanta that he said that maybe a pause on touring is coming for him and his family. He also wants restaurants to fully understand that no matter what, he will be honest.

"I'm gonna be 100% transparent, 100% candid. Me and my family will postpone touring if other cities gonna be like this," he said. "Every review is not gonna be the best. I'm gonna be 100% honest. If you want me to come, please understand I will be honest."

As always, Lee reminds people to not leave any negative or hate comments for the restaurants who don't get great reviews. He wants everyone to have their own opinion.

Lee also explained that without honest and authentic reviews, it won't help business owners in the same way.

More than 18,000 people flooded the comment section with their thoughts on Lee's video.

"Mr. Keith Lee is NOT responsible for others actions, only his own. He is handling everything with class and class will always outshine negativity," one viewer pointed out.

One person said, "Atlanta needed this experience," and another added a similar sentiment, "Atlanta just mad. Carry on Keith."

Tons of support filled the comment section. Lee has a loyal following and they showed up during the recent craziness.

"Keith you don’t have to explain anything. What’s understood don’t have to be explained love. Keep doing you!" one person said.

Another reminded Lee, "You’ll always have haters when you’re at the top."
